What other game TRILOGIES should be remastered?

Manhunt and The Suffering

I liked Manhunt not because of it's gore. It was a fun/scary hide and seek survival horror type game

I only played The Suffering 2 but it was also a scary type game that was well made for it's time period.

Both games would be incredible with modern graphics.

I was crazy about the first game where you had to clear floors one by one. Holy shit I loved it. Imma see if I can get it on emulator
Word , First game was good too.
I was usually taking turns playing with a few people so the second and 3rd games were what we ended up playing the most cuz it was less wait times in between turns.
Yo 3rd game was insane though I remember you could switch to in car view and plow into pedestrians and blood would cover the windshield and he would turn the wipers on to clean it And one of the cars you could use was a bAby stroller . Throw in comments by Sam Jackson that one is worth it alone.
We had so much fun playing that game haha

I really dug the suffering but couldnt finish the second one for the longest time cuz there was a bug that wouldnt let me progress in one of the last levels ,I was so fucking pissed.
Wish they made more of those games.

Oh I also wish they remade The Mercenaries games. I know there was only 2 but there was going to be a 3rd which Im pretty sure they started. Maybe redo The First 2 and finish the 3rd or put out whAt they made so far kinda like they did with Twisted Metal .Oh they should also remaster Twisted Metal

The Suffering was awesome, they should have done a remake a few years ago when horror games were all the rage.

My favourite Bruce Willis game was Apocalypse... Though I never played the Die Hard game(s).

Yeah man, Manhunt was awesome, at least the second. I never finished the first. 2 really pulled me in with its story/settings, while disturbing me like no other game before or since. I played on my PSP late at night outside a coffee shop, as i'd steal their wifi lol. It was a creepy atmosphere, as the shop was closed and no one was around, perfect for this game.

For anyone who never played it, this is a great review of it.

Isn't that sad, that instead of creating even better sequels of past games they have to resort to remastering games?

I would like if IO Interactive remade the original three Hitman games to play as their newer Hitman trilogy. It probably wouldn't be necessary to remake Blood Money, but I wouldn't mind that either.

Keep going with Panzer Dragoon.

I haven't played the first or the second, but the first quarter of Saga (that came free with the Sega Saturn magazine), was tremendous. It also had it's source code lost and it's developer broke down shortly after release, a limited release during the dying days of the Saturn.

Also, Orta is terribly underrated, a beautiful game with fun gameplay and an amazing soundtrack.

That too, plus some remasters are from games that came out in the 2000's, which still hold up. I can understand remaking games from the Saturn and Playstation, but anything around the Xbox time should be looked at as backwards compatibility and a slight polish, not a ground-up remaster.

Not at all. That’s like saying, isn’t is sad that instead of creating better sequels of past movies they have to resort to releasing 4K blu rays?

Some video games have aged like an old banana. While the concept of them is excellent, you can give them new life with modern advancements. There’s a place for new IP’s and remakes.

It's nothing new, and they can walk and chew gum at the same time. They can release "God of War" remasters for the old games on PS3, and still create "God of War" for the PS4.

It is obviously a bit of a cash grab too, but it's up to you if you want to support it. Can't blame the studios if the appetite for remasters are there. Whether or not they make sequels to classics though, really has nothing to do with them throwing together remasters. If the demand is there, they'll make a sequel.

On the gore front, anyone remember the Soldier of Fortune games? No way they'd get a modern remake but you've gotta be curious what that level of gore would look like nowadays

For some reason it doesn't get mentioned in that conversation, but I think RDR2 picked up the mantle in that regard. I guess because it's a high class slow paced western game, it doesn't register as much as it would if was straight up action/horror game selling you on the violence and gore, but man, the depraved shit you can do in that game is crazy. Right out of SOF with all the limb detachments and exploding head shots in all their gory detail. Things can get so nasty in that game, you almost start to feel a little bad for doing some of it.

All these videos do is demonstrate how increasingly marginal each hardware upgrade is

Maybe The Witcher games. Although it would be more a remake of 1 & 2 and a remaster of 3.
3 doesn’t need anything, it’s still the best game ever to date. Graphics are still amazing. There’s nothing to add or change right now.

1 is a prime candidate for a total overhaul. 1 was actually a really cool game, but you could tell that it was low budget. The developers were also relatively green. I would love to see that one remade.

I would like both TW1&2 remade, if for nothing else but to correct the awkward combat systems. TW3 might've streamlined it a bit, to the point of being forgettable and monotonous, but it still played a lot better than the other two.
