Here's an interesting question to discuss while we're waiting for more Mass Effect Legendary news -

What other video game trilogies would you like to see remastered?

The Crash Bandicoot Insane Trilogy sold far better than Sony expected.

ME Legendary is going to sell huge... especially for the next-gen consoles if they change their minds about not releasing an update implementing Ray-Tracing and other tricks to take advantage of PC/PS5/XBX's hardware... so what other trilogies could you see being remastered?

First one that comes to mind in Dead Space. With Ray Tracing with realistic lighting & shadows all three games could be awesome. They could give the 3rd game a major overhaul to make it a true single-player experience without the needless co-op and microtransactions.

Was just about to click on 'Create Thread' but I thought to check out YouTube to see if there's been any recent graphical mods on PC to gauge how the Dead Space games would look on the next-gen consoles and yep they look badass.

My second suggestion was Prince of Persia... but it looks like they're having trouble with remaking just 'Sands of Time.'

So I'm just sticking with Dead Space to start off the conversation. What would be your suggestions?

I suppose "Uncharted" could use one, especially the first game. It's pretty rough around the edges and hasn't aged as gracefully as the other two PS3 games.

GTA3/VC/SA would be nice if they rebuilt them from the ground up, but I think that's a pipe dream.

Jak and Daxter already has a remastered collection, but I think they could push it further and get those games looking a lot better than they did. "God of War" could be put in that category too.

All in all though, I don't particularly think they're necessary, unless they're gonna go the extra mile and truly improve all the visuals, and not just shine it up a bit with some better performance touches. I'm more for remakes, and not necessarily remasters.

I played the Uncharted collection last year and I was amazed how BAD the first one was, even for a 2008 game.

It was just lock-on gunplay, climbing, lock-on gunplay, climbing, lock-on gunplay, climbing, for an entire 8 hours with the same backgrounds.

I can appreciate the love for the next four games for the environments and story, but sheesh, I'm surprised that first one sold enough to get a sequel.

But yeah, if NaughtyDog ever gets around to remastering all five games for the PS5 that first game especially is going to need ALOT of work.

IIRC these games have been remastered, but Id definitely like a remake of each.

Same goes for Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Not a trilogy but Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask could use a modern update.

Also agree with Heretic that GTA 3, VC, and SA need to be remade from the ground up. That’s my dream. Also redo Bully and The Warriors and I wouldn’t need another video game for a long time.

Maybe The Witcher games. Although it would be more a remake of 1 & 2 and a remaster of 3.
I don't think 3 is in need of anything yet, but a remake of the first two would be great. The stories were great and I'd obviously like to see them stay the same, but I'd like to see a lot of the gameplay systems completely redone.

I'd love to see the first two remade with modernized controls. I hadn't played them prior to beating 3. Tired to get into them early on during all of the shut downs for covid and I just couldn't get past the controls. I got it on PC but prefer a controller, and just couldn't lock down a control layout to give me something that felt natural. Ended up throwing in the towel after the intro.

Ended up getting the books to get all of the character back stories and pretty happy with those. Only through Blood of Elves and Time of Content, but nice to get some insight on the relationship with Yennifer. I should have chose Yennifer to stay in line with the books, but I'm a sucker for a redhead and was Tris all the way.

Not really interested in remasters, remakes however:

All the Zeldas
MGS1-3
GTA3, VC, SA

more and more, i think they should just leave shit alone.

most remasters/etc are just cash grabs, anyway.

I'd kill a man for Daytona USA 1-3. Remastered, not, whatever. Let me buy it.

A lot of the ones mentioned are too dated and would need to be remade, not remastered. Resistance is a good answer.
