The problem with Stilnox is that if you take some, but somehow still can't fall asleep immediately for whatever reason, it indeed has the reputation of making you do dumb shit that you completely forget about.
If you're by yourself, thankfully it generally doesn't go much worse than waking up and realizing you've ordered a bunch of crap online and talked on the phone with several people and you now have to ask them if you said anything stupid...

But if you're in a situation where you can't afford to be retarded, it can have some unfortunate circumstances.
For instance, in my family there are lots of people who work in the planes industry, from pilots to flight attendants, and they all have horror stories about passengers who popped a bunch of zolpidem/stilnox pills, hoping to sleep the flight away and wake up at their destination, and then proceeded to act like the village's drunk in an Irish pub, and then wake up not remembering a single thing.
