Aljo did just enough to get a decision. Keeps his title, smart but not so entertaining. UFC rules and scoring enable. GSP said same when he pulled safe wins. CCC a bit rusty and undersized and yet that was best Aljo could do was eke out a close decision.

He's great but all his wins have something that rubs people the wrong way.
Won the belt via DQ in a fight where he was getting dominated late.
Defends against Yan and sorta just won by backpack time (loved it lol) and looked like he was getting dominated late.
Beats TJ but TJ came in with a fucked shoulder and clearly shouldn't have been fighting.
Only wins a split against Cejudo who was coming off a long lay off and looked shit.
It's not even that he's done anything bad. He just hasn't done anything that stands out as a champion. The most BS thing is it isn't really his fault lol. Like, it ain't his fault Yan couldn't follow the rules or that TJ came in to lose with his stupid shoulder, or that Yan couldn't escape a body triangle hahaha.
Even the way he beat Sandhagen just didn't work out for him. Like, he takes the dude out pretty much instantly with complete ease, but he just did it so fast that everyone sorta assumed he caught Cory slipping and it didn't reflect how the fight would have really gone had we seen a round or two.
He's had a weird run. Even his hometown hated him tonight lol. I hope he keeps winning and getting everyone worked up. The guy is unintentionally hilarious.

I got no dog in the race. Sterling isn't polarizing to me whatsoever and I have no love nor loss for Cejudo. You're projecting cuz, you're salty about Aljo winning. I'm salty the fight was mid. However, it was a clear win for Sterling. The close rounds were the ones Cejudo edged. It was obvious asf when Sterling had won a round
If anyone else in the division beat Cejudo like Sterling did, they'd be lauded for having stepped up to the plate against a former 2 division title holder

Not a fan of Aljo or Cejudo tbh so I just wanted some violence and a finish, and the fight didn't deliver. Shit I'd have been booing the last 2 fights as well. Card started well and ended with a whimper.

But I had Aljo in the first fight. And I had Aljo against Dillashaw, and Cejudo.
