Looking at buying a PS4 purely to play SFV

Not playing that with a PS4 pad so need to know what compatible joysticks are available

i really want one with good parts(ie, sanwa or hori)

i know there is a PS4 stick but it only looks like it is available in the US

I have a Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai. Was the only one available around here since the launch of the new systems. Still haven't seen a PS4 mad catz stick available anywhere. Xbone one TE2s are out there, so there's some kind of distribution, it's weird.
Anyways, if you can find the HRAP4 I can easily recommend that one. I did end up swapping out the Kuro button for silenced sanwas, but I really like the hayabusa lever now. Wasn't so hot on it at first, but it grew on me.

I've got the same stick as @dAfTiE. It's good, but I've been thinking about switching the lever. I'll have to see how it plays in SFV. I found it at my local fry's for $145.

Depends on what you enjoy using, of course. I spent a good 40 hours or so with it before I decided to keep it, didn't enjoy it much at first. Works well for shmups too (well, Crimzon Clover).

guys...i'm in the UK....

HELP!

Amazon.co.uk and game.co.uk both have the HRAP4Kai in stock.
Looks like mad catz PS4 stock is short over there too though.

True. I'm not sure how other sticks would compare since this is the only one I have used. It would be interesting to know, but without shelling out money or going to a tournament, It'll be hard to tell.

Yeah. Maybe check if there are any offline gatherings for players in your area. My preference comes from way back in the day in arcades, for whatever reason I always preferred the seimitsu levers to the sanwa ones.

There is a day one tournament here in San Diego tomorrow. I'd go, but I need to practice. They have another one on the 30th that I might attend. But I'm with you, all of my experience comes from the arcades. I'm 33, so I was pretty young playing SF2. I've been a fan since I put in my first quarter and I think I enjoy the series because I'm a combat athlete myself. Growing up wrestling, you always gravitated towards those types of games.

I'd go, even if you go 0 and 2 I'm sure there will be stations set up for casual play and stuff. And it's always nice to get bodied early, it's good motivation to hit training mode extra hard.

You make a great point, plus I've never been to a tournament before. Although, I'm a pretty shy dude who will never do anything alone. It takes a lot of balls for me to do something like that. If I can convince my buddies to go, I'm in.
