I didn’t change anything though , I said the truth .

Misery is a more effect movie on its plot and type of movie ,it’s won awards etc etc .

Brides a very watchable film but it’s a reflection on a comedy sci fi based on fairy tales with a pg rating and uses different dialogues for younger audiences and had a limited budget that’s why you see puppets being used so like I said it’s based on taste in the end but Misery is more quality as I gave reasons why in the thread .

It all comes down to preference but no one can tell me Bride is better quality n terms of production bc it’s not . Lol

I was half serious with the change comment and playing off what you said about nobody voting for it until you brought it up.

Your comments are perfectly valid and I misread your initial post, so I apologize for that.

Have fun storming the castle!

I went with Spinal Tap but The Princess Bride would be a very close second for me. All his movies are good though.

Stephen King said that Stand By Me was the best adaptation of any of his works.

Do you enjoy teaching film more than making/doing film?

Not even a contest since I didn't enjoy making/doing film. I went to film school (technically as a screenwriting major) but I realized almost immediately that it's not making movies that I love, it's movies themselves that I love. I knew that I wanted to teach the very first day of my second semester freshman year "Aesthetics of Cinema" class. I had the silent epiphany to myself listening to the adjunct professor talking about film: "I don't want to be Quentin Tarantino. I want to be this guy!" And now I am that guy! I'm not a particularly "artistic" person, I don't get jazzed creating things, I fucking hate dealing with other people so I not surprisingly hated the collaborative process of filmmaking, I hated being on sets or having to go to locations even just for class assignments. Filmmaking wasn't for me, plus it was never my dream; I just figured in high school that my best subject was writing and the thing I love most in the world is movies so my destiny was to write movies. But when I realized that I wanted nothing to do with filmmaking, I went all in on film studies, added to what was already a vast knowledge of film history, started reading film theory and criticism, and ultimately pursued a PhD and started teaching. This is my version of living the dream, whereas making films would've been a nightmare. So things worked out 😁

Spinal Tap
Princess Bride
Stand By Me

Gotta go with Misery. It's one of my favorite King books and the movie is fantastic. Likely the best ever King adaptation.

Princess Bride is my favorite, but Stand By Me is probably his best, though the image of Kathy Bates swinging that sledgehammer makes my legs recoil lol. Loved Misery too.
