That's a good article for sure! But a bit old IMO. More recently they have found evidence that it did hunt, as described here. http://www.pnas.org/content/110/31/12560.short
So I'm not buying the obligate scavenger theory at all. It definitely scavenged when it could, but it hunted as well.
