What is wrong with Marlon Moraes?

He seems mentally done. The Cejudo loss seems to have really knocked his confidence and his chin seems cracked now too.

Yes I think if he solves the "unwired" part, he can still make a run. Physically the dude is top shelf. Strong, quick, explosive. Age seems not to be an issue at all.
Floyd Mayweather and Pacquaio prove otherwise. They are still beating younger contenders/champions in their 30s - 40s

I thought he looked good against Aldo -- it was the Sandhagen fight and the most recent one that left me a little flummoxed.
It started with the Cejudo fight and the pressure keeps stacking up after every finish loss after.

He's been changing camps to try and fix things but it's more the mental aspect. Once the fight starts slipping from him or he starts getting hit hard he freezes up now. He needs a sports psychologist or someone (including himself) to strengthen his mind and forget the losses and gain that confidence back and go back to how he was a few fights ago.

His fear of getting finished is what's causing him to get finished.

He can also work on his movement/footwork or fight people with less of a reach/size advantage. He's a stationary fighter so that doesn't match up well with fighters with longer reach or that use movement/footwork.

I think it's a combination of several things mentioned here. I definitely think there's a significant mental aspect to it. He's the type of fighter that throws a lot of power shots and likes to go strike for strike with his opponent, and when you just pressure him and refuse to let him fight at his preferred he gets flummoxed, tired, and it throws him off. He probably should've taken a bit more time off after that Sandhagen loss, and maybe shouldn't have left Mark Henry (though I can understand wanting him to get a new look at a very successful camp). He also cuts a lot of weight (should probably stop that, and not be so muscled up) and that combined with the mental factor makes him gas shockingly fast at times. I don't think his chin is gone like some in here, but I think another extension of the mental problem is that since he gassed and was finished by Cejudo, he's afraid of that happening again, so he's more tense, and when he does take a good shot, you can clearly see a change in his confidence that affects his defense and decisions in the cage. It's like he mentally freezes up for an extended period of time when he gets hit hard.

I really don't think he could make the weight. I think 135 is hell for him to begin with. I can't remember where I heard it, but it was that Marlon and Edson Barboza are very close in weight.. make of that what you will.
Yup, he's pretty heavily muscled for his size, and as any sherdogger should know from personal experience, muscle weighs more than fat.

He realized he is short and bald, nothing in physical existence can make up for it and also he realized there are levels to this shit when Cejudo outwilled him
Another victim of the Costanza Effect

He's just not as good as people thought imo. His cardio isn't the best, boxing defense fairly iffy and he doesn't like being pressured.

People thought he was the heir to Aldo but he's more like another Barboza.

The Cejudo fight ended Marlon's prime. It's a shame but that shit happens in the fight game a lot.

didnt he die like 2 months ago? i didnt realize his turn around time was that quick or i would have thrown 100 on font

Not a good comparison, unlike Barboza. Moraes actually got a title shot. Barboza is a gatekeeper.

He is lucky that he never fought Yan.

Moraes is good, but his defense is lacking and his A game is pretty predictable.

he also hates pressure.

That was the last time I placed a bet on him. Never more.

USADA? He entered the UFC post USADA
Doesnt mean you cant take stuff then go off of it. I just threw that out there btw not saying he is juicing. Just hard to wrap my head around his downward spiral. I should have elaborated further to begin with.

Not sure man but he looks fuckin weird.

too much muscle in my opinion .. not enough road and mountain climb work

He cuts too much weight off of his chin.
