Since the beginning of the UFC and until now, how many karate and Kung Fu fighters have been in the UFC?

I saw IP 4 and as a karateka, it was very upsetting at first but as a karateka, there is an understanding that Karate has incorporated some stuff from Kung Fu. But would like to know if there are Kung Fu fighters in the UFC

Karate:

Tra Telligman aka the OG of UFC Free style KARATE!

Wonderboy American Karate
Chuck Liddle Kaioken karate
Rashad Evans of the American/Korean Tang Soo Do Association
Machida of the Machida family style shotokan dojo
Paul "Relentless" Taylor UK karate/kickboxing
GSP of the Kyokushin karate Canada
Sage Northcutt U.S.A style Karate
Conor McGregor of the ITF Taekwondo/Karate Ireland association

Kung Fu:

Tony Ferguson of the Master Laws Wing Chun school of fighting

I give Tony respect for being the only successful Kung Fu dude and adding the techniques to his MMA. But would like to know if more Kung Fu guys have fought in the UFC besides Tony?

I wouldn't consider Tony as someone with a "base" in Kung Fu, but

Zabit Magomedsharipov and Li Jingliang all started with Sanda. Most Kung Fu guys you'll find in MMA will be Sanda guys not Wing Chun. So I assume the Chinese fighters will have this background, but I think most of the best Sanda based MMA guys are in One FC.

This also would include Cung Le btw, though I think he may have wrestled before he crossed over to Sanda - he did have a Sanda career prior to his MMA career.

Ferguson has actually trained in Wing Chun? I thought that was just an assumption people had...was it actually confirmed?

Only the dominant few.

There are small, unknown Asian men in the boondocks of certain countries that could use their king fu to destroy any MMA fighter.

When he was in the UFC I believe that Roy Nelson surprisingly had a background in Kung Fu.
Yeah, I remember when they had the little bios onscreen as they walked out. I think you're right.

Matt hughes had one that said, "Benches 450 lbs," and a handful of guys had ones that said, "Trains with Randy Couture."

If you study real Okinawan Karate and not mcdojo kid stuff, there honest to God isnt enough difference to matter between Muay thai and Karate for kickboxing purposes. Karate can edge out with trips but Thai boxers can absolutely wreck people with elbows. They both kick with the shin, turn hips over, square up, body condition etc. You will see plenty of this shit because its not easy to do. I can't speak for Kung fu

I believe you, I train in Tang Soo Do/Taekwondo with a real master. The training is brutal and its bad for business. Tons of non stop cardio and footwork. Intense flexibility regimen and holding deep stretches for like 20 minutes + body durability like Kyokushin karate.

Real Korean Karate is brutal and I can see how it inspired the cobra kai style. Pat Johnson a Korean Karateka trained the actors in the technique and the philosophy of Korean karate. After the Japanese occupation + the Korean war, the Koreans really upped their game in martial arts and gaining strength.

Anyways, I can imagine about Okinawans. Their style takes in to account striking with toes and fingers as well as conditioning those areas to deliver painful precise strikes. They also do weight training in Hojo Undo. We implement some of their methods, though we train long range and in side stance and not square up too much.

It actually was and explains why he blocks so many punches with his face. Surprisingly Anderson Silva trained wing chun and show cased it in a fight. Some people are so bad ass, they can use just about anything. We can't forget The San Shou Tekken guy.
