Her technique is around average for the division, unfortunately her footwork blows. Just watch how effortlessly Valentina clinched her, half the time Val just stood there and waited for Sarah to put herself into a clinch and get ragdolled.

Julia Budd was 2-1 when she fought Ronda. She was very inexperienced at the time. Not to mention, she fights more like a lay and pray wrestler than a kickboxer anyway.

My point was the Budd hadn't been training her take down defense all that long.

As for the fight itself, Budd just walked up to Ronda and started to throw the overhand right. No attempt to stay away from the clinch at all.
