What if Din Thomas didn't tear his meniscus and PCL against Florian?

Thomas had just finished Clementi, beaten Guida, and armbarred Jeremy Stephens. He was destroying Florian until he had a freak injury tearing his meniscus and PCL. Thomas would easily beat Sherk in a title fight, and I'm not sure if BJ Penn would have ever won the LW title with a Thomas reign. Did Din Thomas get the worst twist of fate in UFC history?

Din Thomas was extremely underrated. He had solid boxing and great JJ. He would have been in title contention if he never got injured.

Ancient history trying to be revised. It is what it is. Therefore...

Truly IDGAS worthy.

7 IDGASs, and counting.

For once there's a thread not about Conor or Ronda and you want to come in here and poop all over it.

Yo TS, when I get back from work Imma watch that fight, never seen it before. Should be interesting

Not a whole lot happened. Kenny didn't want to engage, he finally went for a TD, Thomas tried to sprawl and his knee went out. He got RNC'd shortly afterwards.

Dude is a badass. Was hoping he'd have 1 more run in the UFC like Yves Edwards did.

U know that BJ Penn beat Thomas at UFC 32?

lol before weidman and his "beating brazilian legends" nonsense there was kenny florian and "I finish fights"..

two of the funniest moments in MMA history

Din Thomas is a very underrated fighter, and sadly he won't be remembered by the new generation. Most people will only know about his loss to BJ Penn. But he had some of the best BJJ, and also great boxing and wrestling. Very well rounded skillset for his era. He probably would have challenged Penn/Sherk for the title if he didn't get injured

You know JDS beat Velasquez in their first meeting? By finish in a minute.

Fuck off...
BJ Penn from 2007 has no problems with Din, just like in their first matchup. I agree that Din Thomas was underated, but the BJ Penn from 07-09 who took out Jens, Joe Daddy, Sherk, Kenny and Diego was an absolute monster.

i dont think din would have beaten BJ but yeah i agree his fate was rather sad

Swick,Grant,etc too sad..

Okay first of all, no need for hostility.

Secondly, Din Thomas is a bad match-up for Penn. A great grappler who has significant reach on Penn. Much like Rory and Diaz.

What IF the moon was actually made of cheese?

Do you think giant space rats would fly in to eat it? IF so, would these space rats have to wear space suits or would they be able to survive the vacuum of space?

If the rats were hostile - would we have to use giant poison pellets to kill them - shot into space with a giant cannon?

What if?

I think he was definitely on his way to challenging for the title.
