I Like Conor and that's mainly because he's entertaining to watch and good for the sport. But as a longtime MMA fan I was glad he lost to Nate. Having said that what will happen to the UFC's popularity if Conor loses his next fight's and the hype is over? Will the mainstream "MMA fans" cease to watch UFC will this affect fighters pay etc. How important is Conor for the UFC ?.

hell go back to where he belongs. da fedderweights

If mainstream fans are watching this sport for a fighter that never loses then they are watching the wrong sport. If Conor loses, life goes on and he will still be a big draw relative to any other UFC fighter.

He fights Machida and Shad for some easy wins before going back down and destroying Ferguson and HDA for his second belt.

Chapter 2 complete.

Then he will have two losses in a row.

Don't see him losing the rematch. Dana got some tricks up his sleeve

It would be so funny

The epitome of Conor for me is when people learn life's lessons through hardship. Conors stupid mouth (only reason he was paid what he was anyway) is a black eye to the sport. Mighty Mouse has been more dominant, Jones more dominant, Yet at his peak Conor made any previous UFC, even Rousey's hype, look second best. The sole reason was his stupid mouth.

It makes the sport look bad, the fans look bad, the UFC look bad, when that is what it takes to gain notoriety? Smack talk, plans of grandeur, a sick regard for being humble just hype hype hype!!

For me, I'd love to see Conor lose to Diaz and then I'd love to see him lose his belt to Edgar or Aldo. Then maybe he will humble out a little bit ;)

I prefer fighters who fight and are respectful. GSP, Holly, Mighty Mouse, Weidman, Fedor, even Jones was tame in comparison to Conor's stupid crap.

I think it would be bad for the UFC if he loses his next fights and his belt. I think it was a mistake to put him on a pedestal. Just look at the UFC 194 post press conference he was talking like he owned the company. very entertaining but not a smart move IMO.

Nah, Dana's pockets may suffer, but the sport will regain its respect after McTap and his stupid McNuggets turned it into WWE spectacle nonsense
That would be the best outcome

No. MMA suffers. More people tune in to watch. MMA gets more exposure. Fighters like Nate make more money. The sport has more hype… Lose him and the buzz drops off. If anything, having a guy like Conor keep winning would have been a disaster for the UFC brass. We would have seen new ground broken in terms of fighter pay, and the leverage fighters have… If he loses, Dana and Co will be happy that they have dodged that bullet.

going back to FW won't help

he loses rematches to aldo and mendes with a full camp

His next fights...like 2, 4...how many?

I didn't start watching MMA when I heard the name Conor McGregor. That probably means I will still be watching after Conor McGregor.
