Not letting Conor fighting at UFC 200 as well the possibility of letting him out of UFC 205 might really hurts his EGO a lot, which will end up where Conor just retire from MMA. Lorenzo & Dana aren’t idiot, which they do take in consideration for making every single decision, so I guess they did foresee all this coming along.
The question is: Do they afford to lost bright star like Conor?
My answer will be: A big Yes.
UFC had been doing great all these years even without star like Conor, as they just purely attract crowd that enjoying fighting a lot instead of the puppet show out of the Octagon. They might really earn lesser without the drawing power of Conor, but they will still do well, that’s what happen when the promotion is bigger than the star.
Well, I seem no problem for UFC to build up another star at this moment. Fighter like JBJ, DC, Luke , Weidman, Robbie, Nick & NATEEEE, Khabib…………… anyone of them are willing to be the next superstar of this company, so the future of UFC is secure for sure.
*In addition, if you did read some news in the past, some fighter don’t even care about the promotion stuff as their belt is the only thing they care about, so not all fighter behave the way just like Conor. I guess that’s the spirit of warrior, Cain Velasquez.
