If Bellator is looking to have some kickboxing fights, what about trying some more experimental formats or rule sets?

For example, what if Bellator had some submission grappling fights with ground and pound (but no standup strikes)?

Or what about a lighter version of MMA for younger athletes (maybe under 21) and less experienced amateurs?

Or maybe some Shootboxing-style fights?

What are some rule sets or formats that you would like to see?

Ehh no inwouldnt care to see any of that unless they could have high class legends in grappling matchs everybonce in awhile and they would have to be pretty noteworthy guys ir it wouldnt really work

I think Bellator should focus on putting on a solid top to bottom MMA card before anything.

I'd be cool if they did a pure grappling / BJJ format. With no strikes.

They could take random people and train them for about 6 weeks and then at the end of that 6 weeks have them fight live on a Bellator under card. You could make a reality show out of it, everything is there, the freak show element, the relate ability to the common man, and violence. What could go wrong?

They should do a pussified form of what real life wwe would be. Instead of the steel chair there would be a foam chair with a sensor on it. Headshot is automatic 10-8 round. If the opponent is knocked out or choked out at any time the fighter has a chance to land a flying attack from the top rope. If landed you win. If they regain consciousness you lose.

To do something like that, you should have a lot of recognized names
If they want to do some BJJ event, they need some top guys from Polaris, Metamoris or at least Chael Sonnen's org

I think it's a bad idea, Glory showed that there isn't a lot of viewers for them on Spike, I don't see BJJ, MT or some others doing much better.
I wonder how much ratings Boxing events on Spike are doing

Replace Bellator Kickboxing with Bellator Sanshou

soccer, basketball, table tennis.... you know you want it

It would be nice to see but I do not think you will see it at one of their events during primetime. When the ufc has these type of events..they are streamed

I wouldn't want to see large amounts of other combat sports on Bellator.

But I would definitely be down with an occasional single matchup between 2 fighters with dynamic styles, with a guest commentator who can explain finer points of the sport - MT, submission grappling, sambo, etc.

It won't work, people will lost interest fast. they need to just stick with MMA in my opinion.

Fight2Win is doing pretty good with Pro Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, they do not have a tv deal though

Bellator could try to join in, or possibly rip the idea off

Last thing Bellator needs is more shit on the plate.

Concentrate on MMA and get that rolling before dabbling in anything else, including the kickboxing.

I wouldn't mind seeing the odd exhibition grappling bout but that is very hard to cater to a casual fan base. They're having a hard enough time with this kickboxing idea.
