I’ve compiled a list of near perfect mma events, top to bottom. Some things I’ve considered include: quality of fights/names, magnitude of event, memorability. What do you all think has been the most perfect event thus far?

UFC 189

UFC 199

Pride 33

UFC 217

UFC 178

UFC 205

UFC 194

UFC 218

UFC 204

UFC 84

UFC Fight Night 26

UFC 187

UFC 146

UFC 200

I’ll 139, 117, 132 to that list off the top of dome.

132 had a streak of sick finishes, Guillard vs Roller, RDA vs Uncle Grandpa GSots, Condit vs the dong, and Tito submitting Bader with his back against the wall, plus Dom Cruz vs Faber 2 was a dope fight.

Wand vs Leben never happened so I didn’t mention that btw.

I think 217 has to be my favorite. The WMMA fight had two of the most skilled women in the sport with a upset ko of the reigning champ, the Cody TJ fight with the crazy saved by the bell and then second round come back, and then the GOAT coming back after 4 years off to take a belt in a higher weight class by knock out. I don’t think any night will ever top that.

You asked for the perfect mma card and then listed only ufc cards?

There have been some pride cards, especially the gran prix cards that should be considered up there imo.

Pride 33 and FC2005 for sure

Are we talking about stacked on paper? Or how the fight cards themselves played out?

Because if it's the latter, the answer is UFC 189 and it isn't even close. That is one of the greatest nights of violence I was lucky enough to have the pleasure and disposable income to enjoy.

EDIT: LOOK AT ALL THE BLOOD ON THE FLOOR <{JustBleed}>

Another example of never judge a card just by the names. Card was siiiiick. Seeing Hendo get a finish is always fun.

Ufc 40. Lots of super solid fights. The tito walk. All finishes. Tons of superstars

-Pride 2004 total elimination
-Pride Critical Countdown 2004
-Pride 25
-Pride Total Elimination 2003
-Pride 10
-Pride Critical Countdown 2005
-Pride Final Conflict 2005
-Pride 33

I think I may need to get FightPass now just thinking about all those great pride cards.

It honestly HAS to be a Pride event because they always put all their top guys on huge super shows, something the UFC has been hesitant to do, outside of a few here and there (100, 200, 205, etc.).

Also, Pride always seemed to show more fights and less bullshit between fights, crazy intro notwithstanding. Honestly a bit disappointed you ONLY put one on the list (which means you're at least familiar with them). The 1st one that comes to mind for me:

Pride Final Conflict 2005

Any of their Final Conflicts, to tell the truth were awesome. Honorable mention to Ultimate Ultimate '96.
