Do you still get paid?

For example Ryan hall won a six-fight contract by winning TUF 22 but he has no fights scheduled and hasn't fought since he signed it 6 months ago

there is usually a time limit associated with the contract - so they cant, in theory, keep you on the bench forever and keep you from working - but no, you get paid when you fight unless you come up w another deal - after they sign you for an exclusive contract, they win a lot of leverage over you bc they know you want to fight - if you dont comply w their requests, they may make you sit out for longer than you want

It's x amount of fights in x amount of time. If the UFC doesn't give you fights, your contract expires when the time runs out. If you turn down fights, are injured, or unable to fight, the UFC can extend the contract. I don't think they make any money if they don't fight.

ufc can just pay you. there is also a limit on the time for the contract

Look at that. Another post on sherdog about someone else's money.

Correct. There is always what is called a 'reasonable man' test around contracts. Meaning it has to be applies fairly and based on what the expectations are and would be to a reasonable person. So if you are healthy and ready and wanting to fight, you should get those fights within a reasonable time. Of course views can differ on that time frame and disputes can form but the courts will usually look to that test to decide what is fair and to enforce.
