Didn't he get a spinning back elbow KO in his fight previous to Woodley? I remember DHK having 2 or 3 spectacular KO in a row before Woodley.

Eeh maybe they will come back... however they might get stiffened after such a long time of inactivity

TV personality, and opened his own gym, Stun Gun gym. He wants to do what a lot of American gyms are doing, with dormitory facilities and everything.

fans would love to see the Dong perform like the Dong did in his 20s, but can the Dong continue to rise to the occasion over and over again?

Can the Dong continue to get pumped up and deliver explosive finishes?

Will recent disappointment and inability to finish cause mental hurdles for the Dong? Or will he put that behind him and plow through and continue to find openings?

With title hopes dwindling, will the Dong continue to insert himself into the picture or will the division prove to be too deep for the Dong?

Edit: the guy above me... questioning if the Dong is undersized, that type of thing can really rattle the confidence. And what is the answer? Does he turn to performance enhancers to make sure his reaches maximum size?
Thank you for this well thought out analysis on the dong. I hope he rises again for one last shot at glory.

Well, to be fair, Yoon Dong Sik had no less than 4 grappling bouts in 2018 in Quintet (Sakuraba's promotion), so he lasted a tiny bit longer.
Always loved that guy, such spirit...

Man I forgot about the Dongbar. The one against Manhoef back in the day was a sick comeback.
This fight was one of my friend's first MMA events, I still remember his reaction to this fight ("oh shit OH SHIT OH SHIT")
That was the very first dongbar in MMA.

And kinda saved that K1 card, since Yoon had made a sacred vow that he wouldn't leave Japan to go home until he got a win... no matter who he fought.
He was living at Takada Dojo and training with Sakuraba & Matsui daily for a long time IIRC.

To think that poor Dong would have fought Paulo Filho at a PRIDE Bushido event had he not been injured, they really kept feeding him to the wolves.

Between him and Pawel Nastula, those were some hard times for foreign Olympic Judo Gold medalists to make it on the Japanese MMA scene.

He had his arm blown off during a training exercise in the south Korean army and had a long rehab.. they found a donor arm but it got mixed up with another organ donor. Once they realized the size difference, they had to make a decision. Don ultimately signed the papers and now has a 12 year olds arm. They call it, the ding a ling.
