If you ever see a photo of a crowd of people from the '30s, every guy is wearing a suit. If you were rich, you wore a suit. If you were poor, you wore a suit. Gonna go see a boxing match? Put on a suit. Just having a drink with buddies? Put on a casual suit.

When and why did we move away from this trend? It's pretty badass.

People started developing different styles to make money

I'm glad that's no longer the case. Suits have pretty limited range of motion.

I like the style but Suits are just too hot and uncomfortable for me to wear on a regular basis.

i am glad suits are now used on a limited basis. but i hate how casual people on tv are becoming to look more "hip." like in the morning sometimes i have espn on as background noise. all those guys just wear tshirts and tennis shoes on now. you are on tv, dress like it.

Suits are for people who don't work for a living.

Apparently t shirts came into style because of Army ads in WW2 where photos showed dudes wearing under shirts with no button ups. People thought this was cool.

too damn hot for suits

i wear casual suits and separates at least once a week, its gotta be the right cut and material to pull off it off casually without looking like you just got off work

I'm also glad that trend is over. Though i will admit, it kind of sucks having multiple suits which i almost never wear.

You know, I've often thought about getting more involved with fashion and making that more a part of my life, but the problem is that dressing in such a manner is usually just kind of uncomfortable. Nothing beats the traditional t-shirt and jeans setup, as it can be both stylish AND comfortable.

I will say this though, a while back I knew a guy who would roll around in dress pants, a nice shirt, a vest, and the best part of all--a pocket watch. That probably sounds pretty hipsterish but he pulled it off.

I can't post pics at the moment, but someone please post men at the bar 1930s an men at the bar today.

yeah i love wearing suits and ties.

i do want to see more suits today. but the times have changed.

At least to events more. It use to be that going to a boxing match was a high class event. Have you seen the crowds there today?

I was listening to the 1-year anniversary of the Shaq podcast today, and he said during the Pat Riley interview that Riley supposedly (at least at one time) owns/owned 400 suits, all Giorgio Armani. Christ.
