Parlayed his status to fame and (some) fortune appearing on comedic tv shows back home. For a while he owned a branch gym of Team MAD. Now he runs his own gym in Seoul, with dormitories and everything. Trying to build Team Stun Gun into something special. Also, wife and kids.

I like how he quietly faded away from fighting, instead of making a big deal of retiring, only to return a year or two later. That’s how you know his retirement is real.

Actually true. My boss is Korean, so although she doesn't know about MMA, I always get the inside scoop on korean MMA fighters from her. Dong is enjoying himself doing his casual media thing and living life. I'm sure he still trains to an extent.

I don't know about that, you have to remember that he barely got past Saffiedine in his last win, and pretty much everyone agreed that it was a robbery.

He retired at the right time imo.

Got married in 2018 and they had their first child in 2019. He is stil;l under contract and listed as active by the UFC, but at 38, not sure how much fight he has left in him.
