Couple of years ago everyone said he had pillow fists, pitter patter punches.

After the Kennedy fight, everyone was saying he should retire. One of Bispings biggest strengths was his takedown defense and he got layed and prayed for fight rounds.

Fast forward a few years, Bisping starts ko'ing fools out of nowhere and becomes middleweight champion of the world. Ko's Cung Lee, a knock out artist with only one decision his whole career. Drops Anderson Silva multiple times and Ko's Luke Rockhold.

Lol what.

Bisping Gold baby. It's real.

Solid work ethic, exceptional skills, the belief in oneself, and the stars aligning just right.

These things happen...

Some people grow tumors in their late 30s. Bisping grew punching power. Conceive, believe and you will achieve.

Since hendo is about to retire the JBG has bestowed Bisping with amazing powers.

To be honest I think it has more to with his punch placement/shot selection than his actual power. And that I would credit to his experience + Jason Parillo.

It's a combination of things;

  • USADA
  • Experience
  • Self-belief
  • Jason Parrillo
Bisping is a southpaw but as with a lot of weird kickboxing gyms they make their fighters learn orthodox.

Mike was the often paired with Wrestlers and was often worried about being taken down - he naturally developed a jab, jab, cross and move tactic; especially when hurt.

He also used to have a lazy break and would break with his chin in the air and would often get caught whilst moving backwards - again this is the result of the weird kickboxing gyms over here.

Parrillo has really helped him iron out a lot of those errors.

He didn't listen to Shertards who called him everything from a gatekeeper to a can for years. Continued to believe in himself, and most importantly he wanted it that much more than anybody else did.

Never thought he'd ever become champ. Not a big fan but he looked really happy. Good for him

He deserves it. Grew on me after all these years. He ktfo of a cocky, arrogant tool. He has the strap. It may be quick holding of the title but you can't take away when he won the belt.

Even his kids didn't believe in him, but he does believe in himself. That's his strenght

Motivation, oppurtunity, confidence, and a style that is sneaky

Yeah, sometimes these things come together just right.

You just made me realize Tim Kennedy is somewhere seething

He actually posted a very respectful congratulations to Bisping on his twitter. He actually seems to like Bisping these days, he was rooting for him against Anderson too. Two fighters that are heavily against PEDs in MMA.
