About Tokov - his mother is from Kabardino-Balkaria but i forgot and too lazy to google her exact ethnicity but I'm 100 % sure that she is not Ossetian.
Info about daughter and Shamalov are quite known and about second daughter you can find info too (I've seen some articles in Enlish that people in Netherlands wanted to get her banned/blacklisted from country after this tragedy with MH17). There also were some reports years ago about this Faassen guy. Like he got in some conflict on the road with one businessman and said businessman and his bodyguards beat him and damaged his car. Next day guy was arrested but not for beating but for something like fraud and evading taxes, something connected to his business. And non-governmental media called Faassen husband or boyfriend of Putin's daughter.

In his ideal world what is it that would make him happy?
Is there a lot of things or just a few?
America to vanish off the face of the planet? All of Europe? I'm sure he'd love those 2 things but they aren't going to happen any time soon.
So with America around and NATO in existence what would he like to happen to keep him content and in a good mood for a long time?

1. Ideally he wants to regain the territories lost when the USSR broke up,
2. Minimally, he wants to regain the "Russian" parts of the Ukraine, the Baltic states and other former USSR republics - the areas where most people speak Russian and think of themselves as Russians.
3. He wants to be viewed as a Superpower on a par with the USA and China.
4. He wants to project influence into Europe, the Middle East and South Asia.
5. He wants to secure his country against Muslim fanatical terrorists.

We should cooperate with him on #5 - our interests are well aligned. We should consider compromises on #2 - possibly plebiscites under international supervision, but we should resist direct military action on his part. We should counterweight his efforts on #4. We should flatter him profusely to satisfy #3.

Chaos and division within the United States. The United States to tear itself apart from within, so that he doesn't have to fire a single shot. That is exactly what he is getting right now.

In terms of autocrats, though, Putin is pretty incompetent and the common people in Russia are worse off than those under most recent (leftist, I suppose) dictators. As far as this recent generation of dictators go, Putin seems to be the least benevolent and most self-serving.

Other than being programmed toward nationalism and monarchist culture by the Russian autocracy and subsequent culture of personality built around Stalin (and retroactively Lenin), I have a hard time justifying Putin's popularity.

There are many reasons for it like rising oil prices, the commoner will not care. He will relate the obvious, putin=more money.

Nah, Russia could fuck up the whole world even with 10 million in population, yeah Russians are that good... but it wont happen, so whatever.

Now what really would be frighting is Russia with 300 million muslims instead of Russians.

EDIT: Actually now that i think about it, maybe it wouldn't be that bad, it would solve Russian alcohol problem, and some western degeneracy lol

Russia has nukes, it can fuck up the whole world with 1 guy if he can fire them all.
But it will be unable to maintain that kind of weaponry with a small population while China and the USA would eventually develop ever better weapons and defense.
