Once again, none of that you said happened. And no, not everyone knew Ngannou was done with the UFC because Ngannou was negotiating with the UFC right till the end and he and his team were going for the Jones fight 2 months before he was let go.
Bottom line is that Ngannnou was offered the Jones fight with a date and event and new contract and he declined it. Jones was booked for that event, his HW debut and HW title shot. It was suppose to be Ngannou, he declined and they took Gane.
I don't think you quite understand the series of events in that whole Jones/Ngannou scenario for 2022 and 2023.
