The Reyes fight was very inductive IMO. Reyes went on and lost decisively to Jan not even close. At the time Jan would demolish Jon I see no reason why not.

The way he made Bonnar look like a child was what caught my attention back then,got his autograph right around the same time the 3rd UFC fight was with Bonnar.

08'-09' long before he became a house hold name
 
1. The ability to cheat and be covered by the org (a decade of steroid exemptions and, as one man, single-handedly exposing the USADA era as a sham)
2. The ability of the org to rig fights to match-make to ensure he doesn't lose (Gane/Stipe)
3. The ability of the org to rig fights to ensure he doesn't lose decisions (Gus/Reyes/Santos)
4. The ability of the org to rig fights to ensure cheating is policed in a way that his chances of losing are minimized (Herb the fight fixer who does this not only for Jones but did it for every other marketing star such as Conor/Sean/etc etc)

He has plenty of fighting gifts as well, but let's not pretend we are matching something that isn't rigged from the start and say "it's still real to me dammit"

Most sherdoggers are armchair psychologists(while also having little social interaction and understanding IRL. It's funny how they're both at the same time).

Throwing out clinical terms like sociopath/psychopath because it's a popular thing to do while not having much of an understanding of it is one thing, what's perhaps even more ridiculous is how extremely exercised and convinced they are that Jon Jones is the most horrible person on this planet.

This same planet which is inhabited by people who have raped, killed, tortued, canibalized innocents and even the most vulnerable of society like children and the elderly. Yet there is still no bigger boogeyman in their eyes than a human cockfighting athlete who beat up all their favorite fighters without ever getting knocked out himself.

While Ngannou was an active UFC fighter Jones would tease a fight, price himself out, then duck just like with Tom. Dana even called him out on it. I also remember him saying after seeing Ngannou ko StIpe that Jones should think about moving to 185. When Ngannou left Dana said he was afraid of Jones.

Jones would use the excuse he needed time to build muscle and become a proper Heavyweight. Ngannou leaves and Jones snows up looking exactly the same with a beer gut. Maybe Jones had a fight booked before Ngannou's contract expired but everyone knew by that point Ngannou was done with the UFC and just waiting it out.
 
jones was well rounded in skills and had many physical intangibles like height, reach, card, strength and chin
he also is a high iq fighter, had a great camp and the right personality for the game(he clearly likes hurtin' people)
and most importantly, when the going got tough and he was losin' rounds, instead of getting gun shy and scared, he would apply even more pressure to his opponent
just a relentless winning machine
you just had to be there for prime jones, everything about him was great except for ko power and striking defence
but his other physical tools completely negated everything he lacked

Once again, none of that you said happened. And no, not everyone knew Ngannou was done with the UFC because Ngannou was negotiating with the UFC right till the end and he and his team were going for the Jones fight 2 months before he was let go.

Bottom line is that Ngannnou was offered the Jones fight with a date and event and new contract and he declined it. Jones was booked for that event, his HW debut and HW title shot. It was suppose to be Ngannou, he declined and they took Gane.

I don't think you quite understand the series of events in that whole Jones/Ngannou scenario for 2022 and 2023.

Damn dude-I don’t know why the Macho You Think So fight even happened. Jon was in the right place in the right time at LightHeavyweight-I wish he had went to heavyweight way earlier. There was definitely room and time to add some actual accolades and take on real challenges compared to his actual resume. Despite their size everyone else was around that size as 205 Champ Jon just fought who was available-and there are 205rs as big as Jon but they weren’t as good. I thought Gus had beat him the first time-Reyes pretty much DID beat him-But Jon at 23 went in there and beat the everliving shit out of Shogun

I don't understand much, but I do understand Reyes sent Jones out of the division and he took 3+ years off while Ngannou fought 3x. He had all that time to fight Francis and didn't. I think it's pretty clear Jones has no interest in fighting the best hw's, in the weakest era even. He took the Gane fight because he has terrible grappling, cherry picked Stipe, and now wants Poatan to move up.


If they came to an agreement Jones likely would have changed his mind anyway, like he did with Tom, which is why he's not on the white house card. If Jones agreed to fight Ngannou it's because he knew it probably wouldn't happen. If you think in any way Ngannou ducked an mma fight with Jones and took the easy way out to go box Tyson Fury you're a silly goose. A fight he arguably won, I wonder how Jones would do boxing Tyson Fury. He also made more money from the Fury fight than he did in his entire UFC career, that might have been a motivating factor.

Also, none of what I said happened? Dana didn't say Jones should think about moving to 185 after Francis ko'd Stipe?
