What does Jon do that no one else does?

I wouldnt say so much better skill wise. But his fight IQ is just better than everyone else.

Nothing, he's much bigger than everyone else, cheats and fights 90yr old washed up guys half his size.

When he fights absolute bums like Reyes but who arent 50 yrs old and MW's he struggles. Has average striking, average grappling, average to mediore bjj...

What specifically makes him so much better than everyone else? He’s not even out here hurting people with his punches

He combines high level athletic genetics with high level composure, attacking instinct, and mind games that he plays on his opponents. Tactically he is top notch as well.

In other words, he's basically top notch at everything (with the exception of punching power, but it doesn't even matter this is mma not boxing)

Dude's got spider arms and legs, and can wrestle like Cain. Ain't no secret. He just uses his natural advantages better than most.

As a matter of fact, @icemun :

Across his entire career, Jon Jones has only been older than three opponents:
  1. Anthony Smith (2019) – Jones 31, Smith 30 (1 year)
  2. Dominick Reyes (2020) – Jones 32, Reyes 30 (2 years)
  3. Ciryl Gane (2023) – Jones 35, Gane 32 (3 years)
And - of course - Jon Jones has never faced an opponent with a longer reach than his own.

@FilipEmoFights - here's the answer to Your OP.
Thats simply what happens when one is the youngest UFC champion ever at 23 everyone, everyone is older

The avergae age of UFC LHW champions over the last 20 years has been 35

The second youngest was Shogun at 29.

The oldest was Texiera who Jones beat a decade prior, at 42

Alex Pierra the current LHW champion is the same age as Jones is NOW After being s champion for well over a decade

38

If "reach" were the magical determiming factor of excellence, Stefen Struve would be the GOAT HW

Stipe lost to Jones too!!!

Infact Jones has never lost and when when Jones called out Stipe after getting the belt, he was the same "grand pa" age as the current LHW champion!!

SEVEN?

The only TWO opponents who have been caught with proper PEDs were old MW Chael and old MW Vitor.
In both of these fights Jon was 10 years younger + had a 10 inch reach advantage.

Machida doesn't count because he was taking a banned OTC weight loss supplement 7-keto-DHEA - which is not comparable to steroids or TRT.
Oh, and here again Jon was 10 years younger + had a 10 inch reach advantage.
Machida was busted
Chael was busted
OSP was busted
Bonner was busted
Thiago Silva was busted

Shout outs to Dan Henderson and Rampage for their candidacy about steroid use POST Pride (where steroids were encouraged/distributed)

As the great Ken Shamrock said, " you have to be pretty naive to not know whats going on"

Abnormally large frame that was very tuned to great weight cuts. Incredibly underrated raw strength. Uncanny instincts for distance management, leverage, grappling. Iron chin, amazing cardio, top fight IQ

As a striker he can hit and hit hard from every range with a huge variety of punches, kicks, knees and elbows.

He’s just an incredible physical talent that matched it with awesome fight skill. He also picked it all up so fast, he didn’t have to go through struggles in his growth phases which is why he was dominant for so long. He had a bunch of defenses before he ever really hit hus physical prime, and took almost no real physical or neurological damage.

Stipe was retired from the sport and was a full time firefighter. 2014 Stipe wrecks Jones.

Reyes won rounds 1-2-3 and ran Jones out the division. Loser left town LOL

He’s good at everything, knows how to maximize advantages, but most importantly he actually gameplans for each opponent.

Feels like 99% of these guys just show up and fight how they fight. Jon shows up as whatever he needs to be to specifically beat the guy in front of him.
Interesting take
Could you pls elaborate with some examples ?
