I really hope DC wins againsT JJ this time around. He embodies what a champion should be and I have a ton of respect for him. Gus gave us the blueprint on how to beat jones but, DCs style doesnt go well with that gameplan at all.

Jones is bigger and stronger now but will he be slower and will the layoff and bs he went through affect him in the octagon?

The last thing DC wants is a dog fight. We all know how that turned out last time... For DC to win, i think he needs to push the pace, pick his shots and stick with wrestling. If he can get Jones down and keep the pressure on him, i see him winning but, other than that i just cant see it. I hope he pulls through though

How does dc win this fight my fellow sherdoggers ?!

By getting cain to fight for him.

I disagree. I don't think DC can push the pace as I think that'll get him hammered in the early minutes. I think DC should give up the first round, then grind out the rest with his wrestling. He needs to utilize the lay and pray method which is terrible for us fans, but that's the only way I think he'll get the win.

Cardio has to be MUCH better than the first fight - He held his own for the first half of the fight, then totally faded.

Chain wrestle. Keep it in boxing range on the feet. He has better hands overall than Jon. Work Jones body instead of just head-hunting.

Attack johns lower leg with kicks, nothing above the thigh, or he gets taken down again.

Work hardest on conditioning prior...and fight agressively.

Clinch work.

He had most of his success in the clinch last time. That dirty boxing and clinch work was something Jon had trouble pulling away from, allowing DC to land a series of uppercuts multiple times throughout the first couple rounds. Utilize that more often.

better footwork would help to get inside...but he is so emotional about this fight, that i really dont know if hes gonna pull it off. I really hope he will be game as fuck come fight night.

The only way I see DC winning is getting a lucky KO or JJ somehow gassing. I dont see either happening.

He needs to go back in time about 10 years and become a more complete fighter.

Agreed.
Chop that tree down.....

Yeah, he even seemed to have jones a little rocked at one point from what i remember. I hope he can just keep jones on the fence, dirty box and get him to the ground at will

He needs to eat some 12 to 6 elbows.

He's got a shot if he protect his eyes.

Completely agree. Cormier was having great success at doing a Randy Couture impression.

The only way he wins is to wade into Jones and eat strikes....if he can eat strikes and get a few good strikes in himself, he might wear down JJ and get to a ground n pond situation by round 4.......but Jones is too athletic and knows how to fight in a variety of styles....anything can happen but I see another 5 rounds of boring fight and JJ unanimous decision.

He can't do anything. He had nothing for Jones the first time and he's older now.
