i have switched around but lately i seem to get the most stability/comfort by wearing a cup in a jock strap w/ compression shorts over that and then my board shorts.. (sprawl or ssf)
YA, not the dumb part, because I was acutally kinda wondering this aswell.
LOL. Someone actually asked me "Do you put the cup under or over your underwear?"
My responce "Um..well, I put it over, but I don;t know if that's best....."
This was awhile ago when I was just starting. I can't imagine the egdes of a hard plastic cup digging in without some underwear in-between.
I never knew people put compression shorts on over the cup. I always thought it was because in Muay Thai the shorts are kinda "revealing" when your on the ground doing leg raises, sit ups etc.
I usually wear my Tapout or Truth Vale Tudo Shorts, that way I can ditch my shorts if I just want to roll in my VT shorts. I like to train in both so I just use my VT shorts instead of buying compression shorts or something similar.
i wear UA compression shorts and adidas compression shorts then over that i wear my cup then shorts... i bought both of them from Sports Authority for about 25 bucks each after taxes..
I was thinkinfg of getting the shockdoctor comp shorts, and this tread made up my mind for me so i just googled it and this was the first website I got
i use the shock doc compression shorts with cup but you can't buy new pairs without getting a new cup so i just picked up some easton compression shorts with a cup holder. they are made for baseball (they have sliding reinforcements on the hips) but they can hold a cup and they seem pretty comfortable (though i haven''t rolled in them yet).
