Thanks. I will only if I'm in Las Vegas. Otherwise I tend to stay away. I don't get a rise out of it like I know a lot of people do. Probably because my parents were degenerate gamblers.
But when I'm at the casinos I say "when in Rome" and have a good time. I just don't let it leave there. When I go, I go knowing that I'm going to spend a lot of money. That's not a day to day expectation (or even week-to-week) normally.
Gotcha, gambling is a slippery slope for sure. Someone who worked in the online sports betting industry said it perfectly once. 9x% of successful long term gamblers have some sort of horror story or stories where they've lost tons of money betting and then finally gotten their shit together. Sorry about your parents tho, once it gets real bad then it's a fucking problem.
It's weird for me b/c I don't get off on the action, I actually started gambling b/c I knew more about certain sports than most other ppl and when you pick a few upsets and then someone on tv says "so and so was a 5-1 dog can you believe it?!?!" I finally went "yeah I picked that motherfucker and nobody even said good job let alone gave me money for it," lol.
So I got into sports betting b/c I was sharper than most, even when I first started not so much for the feeling of gambling so to speak. I don't like the feeling of having large amounts of money on sports tho, it's nerve wracking and you're more pissed off when you lose compared to being only kind of relieved when you win, b/c if you consider yourself sharp then you expect to win most of the time so it doesn't feel as good. Also that's when chasing and wasting money comes into play. Worst feeling ever when you go full degen and find out you meant to lose a couple hundred at most and it turns out to be thousands, ugh.
Really not sure but that would make for a very cool thread. We could sticky it and track our records.
Anyone interested?
I'm all for it. Underrated sharp who doesn't gamble much but when he does, he wins,
@PHATV can pick a winner and method believe me. But Im winning this if it's happening. Front runner. Forget this when I finish second to last.
