So....I had Benavidez pretty clearly winning the 3rd round. He controlled the pace, was far more aggressive, outstruck him statistically by a pretty wide margin, and even took Sergio down (briefly)
And yet, Pettis got a 30-27, winning that last round....
begs the question. What do judges look for? Is it cleaner, more technical fighting? Pettis certainly looked cleaner, and was a more effective counter striker. I just can't understand how Pettis got that round
