So far I think the following people qualified.

Queen Underwood
Gary Russell (his brother, who is really good)
Cam Awesome
Mikaela Mayer (Dr Pepper girl who is pretty hot)

Outside of Gary Russell, I think we are going to get killed by the international pros.

This guy is representing us at 201lbs (heavyweight).

He reminds me of Prince Charles Martin

Didn't watch the video but that doesn't sound a promising comparison.

Poor balance, over extends himself constantly, can't throw one hand without dropping the other. All around just sloppy looking.

I'm pretty sure this Olympics is using new scoring rules, right? edit: yep, no headgear and 10-point must scoring. Hallelujah.

That's what I read. Scoring judges isn't it?

I edited my post, but no headgear and 10-point system for the 2016 games. Solid. Still not sure if they're letting pros fight this year or not.

I'd hope not, a lot of the current amateurs haven't had a lot of time to adjust to the new system. I'd rather they all worked through these games by themselves, and let pros compete in 2020.

I couldnt finish watching the 1st round. This guy is gonna get merc'd.
EDIT: especially based on your edited post Shoemaker, those rules are just set up to get these guys a trip to lala land in the 1st round.

That guy is too comfortable with his lack of defense. He's not good enough to act like he's the superior athlete. Too early for all that, he's gonna get hurt against big skilled guys trying that stuff.

I'm guessing he's got a good punch on him.

The guy can't do anything after he throws his right hand except reset himself. His back foot comes off the ground, all of his weight comes forward. Usually he either had to push off his opponent or jump backward to get his feet underneath himself.

In case we are talking about the same person, I think the guy repping the US is the southpaw in the red, and he got dropped in the 1st round.

He reminds me of Prince Charles.

Yeah we're talking about the same person. The guy in the red is "Cam". The reason I say I'm guessing he has a good punch on him is because it's the only reason I can think his opponent wouldn't punch with him. If you bait him into countering with his right hand, he's there to be caught hard. When we was dropped it was more of him just being lazy, though. Well, his balance didn't do him any favors. Nor did his tendency to throw his upper body forward when he does anything offensive. He doesn't do himself any favors at all, really.

You're right, he's like an even more unrefined Prince Charles.

Andy Cruz of Cuba will be the star of this year's Games and the one boxing fans are really going to want to pay attention to.

Julio Cesar la Cruz is probably going to get his first Olympic gold, as well (to go with his three world championships).
