What do you honestly think to the UFC Store autographed prices & are they worth it?

I never really understood why anyone would pay a bunch of money for something signed. To each their own. I would maybe pay a couple dollars extra for something that was signed... if I wanted the item in the first place. To each their own I guess.

Yeah, that's what I'm like in regards to this, like I will to a degree but not when it's stupid money.

I mean autographs aren't really worth a lot anyway in general, specially if the artist/talent have signed a lot of autographs throughout their career, even when they've passed away if the person has signed thousands of autographs throughout his career, done personal appearances a lot then the signatures don't really go for that much money, even when it's guaranteed they've signed it.

I mean some of the wrestling legends that have passed away you can get their autographs quite cheap and easy really when you look at it in the bigger picture, Rowdy Roddy Piper for example and yet these wrestlers are bigger stars than MMA fighters, even Ric Flair and Bret Hart's autograph's don't really go for that much money, I know they're still alive but it's just their autographs are so common every fan who wants one can get one pretty easily so I'm not sure where the value in these MMA fighters comes from because outside of MMA I'm not sure they have any long term value because they're not known on a massive level unless of course it's Conor McGregor for example.

I mean wrestlers like Ric Flair, Ted Dibiase etc. often get referred to in popular culture like Rap and things too (a lot) so they are a pretty big deal to a degree but MMA fighters, I'm not so sure.

They're great for the UFC fan but outside of that I'm not sure hence why I say I'm a little hesitant in regards to their worth though I guess to some people they are, I dunno :)

To give people an idea of what MMA memorabilia with an ex champ is worth-

And these have much more historical value than Whittaker vs Israel.

Exactly!! I think it's just the UFC putting the value on it bigger than what it is in hope that the current popularity the fighters are on sells it but it doesn't really, specially long term.

I mean, I've no problem in regards to them making a profit, they're entitled to do so and if people will pay it then fair enough however part of me feels it's a bit of a piss take when they push them up too much because they're also taking away the opportunity for genuine MMA fans to own them because they want them for themselves personally as they're not really long term investments.

I mean, £540 for Dustin Poirier and Khabib, I know Khabib's quite a big deal now but that's over half a grand just for a poster he's hand signed.

Yeah, autographs used to add value when they were rarer, like the earlier days of baseball cards. Nowadays there are endless "fan signings" and conventions where they pump these out by the hundreds.

If Conor Mcgregor suddenly died or went to prison, then yeah, I can see his signed memorabilia going up in value. But on its own, it's not worth anything.

Yeah 100%, even with Conor if he's signed a lot of autographs and they're easily out there (I honestly don't know as I haven't looked) but they really won't go for that much if they're easily obtainable.

Conor's stock has dropped a lot anyway but I get what you mean in regards to this in theory too, things that would be worth more would be things that are much rarer as opposed to a hand signed signature, one off items or I dunno, something rare and significant but autograph's not really.

They're nice but they're not as valued as they used to be, the only one's that are are like historical figures from years ago, say Julius Caesar or something then they're in the ridiculous kind of money but that's expected.

Nothing wrong with having a signed poster, but the prices they charge are fucking ridiculous

Was considering getting one at 204 since it was my first ever event, but when a normal poster is about 20x cheaper it isn't worth it

Yeah, I honestly didn't expect the Whittaker and Adesanya one to be £350, I know they charge quite a lot so didn't expect it to be the cheapest but not much considering some are around £100 - £150, Cejudo vs Dillashaw for example is only £150 which I don't think is too bad really but £350 I think is pushing it a bit much.

Sure we've got Al and Dan on the card too but that's about it and as mentioned above they're not really long term investments aren't autographs in general when they're so common and specially MMA fighters which are great to us but people outside of that don't know them or care, even wrestlers which lets be honest they are quite significant in popular culture don't really go for that much even the one's who have passed away simply because they've signed so much normally so I don't really know where they get these UFC prices from but ya know.

As I say, if people will pay it then fair enough but it does seem a bit much doesn't it, I think they're just pushing them up on their current popularity but that means nothing long term so they're not really an investment or anything, they're just nice to have :)

Ali's gloves from his Patterson fight is the most expensive fight memorabilia ever sold at auction- at 1.1 million.
i

And the most expensive among all sports was Babe Ruth's 1920 jersey- sold for 4.4 million.

Hey, maybe in a 100 years, someone spends that much on Ed Herman's shorts.

good luck to the seller.

Ha yeah, sellers sometimes just don't have a clue and just try it anyway but they won't sell lol

The Ali thing is a given because it's so significant, it's Mohammad Ali and he comes from an era where autographs were valued more plus he's pretty much a historical figure too however those gloves are from a specific significant fight so no doubt when something like that sells it's Snoop Dogg or something buying them just because lol

Same with the Babe Ruth thing although I don't even know what he looks like (cut me some slack, I'm in the UK and don't follow baseball lol) though I know he's absolutely a legend so just because I don't know means nothing lol

But as we were saying there's a big difference between these guys and an MMA fighter, to us they're nice and the best thing ever but outside of our value I'm not so sure.

Spend the treefiddy on coke and hookers, TS.

<JonesLaugh>
Or just coke. Those hookers will cost half that 350 and then do all the coke. If you buy 350 worth of coke, you'll have more coke and can share with someone you pick up for free

Barry Business here lol

UFC fighters are sweatshop workers. It's absolutely tragic that it is accepted.

What if we changed the C to an O so they were UFO fighters, would that make it worthwhile? lol :)

You couldn't pay me enough to fight UFOs. At least in MMA I can fall to the ground immediately and tap out and collect my $10k minimum purse

Ha, this is true!

Although it would be pretty good shooting into the sky and KO'ing a few UFO's, right?
