nations and imams have to basically say the quran is wrong and rewrite it. I cant see any other way. That is so sad and insanely twisted at the same time. What parent would sacrifice the life of their own child. It is a sickness not a religion at that point.

christianity experienced this.

the enlightenment and reformation. lots of people had to die, but now the faith has been watered down and is much safer.

How do you convince anyone who's religious that they're wrong?

You don't, they'll eventually adjust and grow out of it. Its like convincing McDojo students that what they're doing doesn't work and is potentially harmful (false sense of security, more prone to take fights opposed to before where they'd avoid it completely). When they're really committed, no amount of evidence will deter em.
