Being as objective as I can on this I'd have to say
1. Opiates
2. Alcohol
3. Women

I think these three things can suppress a man's potential more than anything else on earth. Thankfully I've never crossed paths with #1 and I never will. I think we all deal/have dealt with some mixture of 2 & 3. It's hard to get through life without dealing with alcohol and women regularly, yet ironically these two things have destroyed a great deal of men.

What are your 3 sherbrehs? What do we do to combat these evils?

lol @ opiates -- energy optimizers if I ever took any in my life.

Also lol @ alcohol.

Drugs are not the problem. Drugs are literally never the problem. It's philosophically impossible for drugs to be the problem. PEOPLE are the problem.

Man's biggest inhibitor is HIMSELF, maybe his family or choice in partner as well or things people have done to him - the wrong state of mind, underdeveloped emotions or life skills, etc. It's not drugs or drug use.

1. Himself
2. Himself
3. Himself

Disease resulting from substance abuse isn't a problem? Uh? Alcohol has stolen the soul of a great deal of men. Opiates literally kill people. That's not suppressing potential?

Opiates are "energy optimizers"? You sound poor and addicted to drugs.

I'm actually rich and clean, thanks :)

Id say it all boils down to lack of discipline really.

1. The idea that you have to spend a fixed amount of time everyday to attend school to learn in a homogeneous way or that you have to pay a really large amount of money to get a good education. Education is free.

If Socrates knew how schools and universities are today, he'd weep. Then again, he screwed a bunch of pubescent boys.

2. Traffic

3. Current mainstream music

lol i disagree entirely. i can attribute most of my accomplishments to alcohol giving me the courage to do shit i was otherwise too afraid to do, and having the ambition to go out and do things just to impress a woman.

my three things would be 1. apathy, 2. fear and 3. complacency. the worst setbacks in my life were because i was too afraid to go after what i wanted, and i allowed myself to just stop caring and be comfortable with where i was at. so thank you alcohol and women for breaking me out of those stupors.

i dunno about opiates, hasn't been my thing. only that it was a bad idea to get high in the movie tombstone and go sucking on wyatt earp's gun. stupid cowboys.

some of the greatest men of all time were drug addicts, drunks, womanizers or a combination of them.

my top3:

1-fear of failure
2-laziness
3-ignorance

1. Ignorance
2. Insecurity
3. Addiction
