Mainly the dudes with extreme upper body strength who do those pull up bar dances or whatever they're called. Or the rings. Or those dip bars.

They definitely look way healthier and more aesthetic than powerlifters and Olympic-style weightlifters, unless you're comparing them against the likes of Karlos Nasar or Lu Xiaojun. But in general, gymnasts look better than barbell athletes... Except for the lower body.

Still though, I made the switch to it. My workouts right now are endurance oriented and half of the exercises are bodyweight stuff. I am trying to be a middleweight fighter kind of guy. I might get back to barbell lifting in a few years. Who knows?

I am basically trying to be that Athlean X guy, even though he is kind of a meme.

They have extreme control over body and P4P strong as hell. Great addition to any style workout for mobility, flexibility, and balance. Even just adding in some of the beginner friendly stuff like Rings pulls up, dips, push ups will get you feeling new muscle stimulus

Thanks.

What I do notice is that almost anything can be new muscle growth stimulus if the resistance is heavy enough and the movement pattern is new enough. I think I will end up with a better physique after my two year stint with gymnastics.

Your core will get stronger, slimmer and shoulders will round off. Bis & tris will grow, lats will widen. Grip will improve. Legs may trim up, if you really pull off the gas on moderate leg days as well.

Cardio is not a major consideration in gymnastics. It is good though other than that.

My early childhood friend was once an olympic hopeful in gymnastics and he was very talented. He ended up sadly committing suicide though.

He was great athlete and a great person but drugs got a hold of him amongst other stuff.

The female ones are hot muscular midgets. Wood.

Exceptional athletes in terms of relative strength, especially in the upper body, agility and mobility. Even basic-bitch gymnastic moves like Rings Pullups take time and effort to master.

Lower body strength is somewhat lacking compared to other sports, but that's due to specificity. At what they do, Gymnasts are extremely impressive.

Most impressive athletes imo. Gotta be the hardest to learn to do if not starting young. Flexible, powerful, strength endurance, strong in every plane of motion, insane kinesthetic awareness and proprioception. Truly strong, because they can do every movement and have strength at every ROM.

Legs-wise, gotta have strong legs to do vaults (which start with a sprint) and the flips in the floor routines. Plus the insane landing forces. Most sports' athletes do not have legs as strong as that. Federer, Michael Phelps or Harry Kane aren't doing that stuff.
