What are realistic "winnable" fights for Conor in 2024?

In the UFC rankings I’d say he has more than a punchers chance against anyone ranked 9-15 excluding Damir who might wrestle him to Bolivia

Paddy - Agreed. That loud mouth thinks he's the next Conor but he's just annoying and not very talented beyond his grappling; he's a shit striker with shit defence, and seems to think like Nate DIaz that it's cool to get hit. He's gonna get fucking finished by a real hitter, soon - and I believe Conor would catch him, early, and quickly and finish him.

Nate - Yeah... probably. Conor's gas tank is definitely gonna be worse than it was in his Nate II fight and it was p bad then; although tbf, even though he had moments of pure gassed-outness and running around etc. / he still went full 5 rounds of a lot of striking, and Conor puts p much everything into his shots. That's a lot of energy expenditure for anyone. Anyway Nate is dog shit so yeah, I think he could beat him probably easier this time.

Masvidal - Yep. Before the... Colby fight, I would have still thought Masvidal pieced Conor up. But he looked noticeably slow, timid/cautious in that fight and the Burns fight. And then he retired and said he feels it himself. And we can see it. I think Conor wins if they fight now.

Chandler - I know the rumor is that he won't be fighting Chandler now; stupid move. This is a perfect comeback fight for Conor. Very winnable, very likely winnable too and still a buzzing name in the upper echelon right now. He's a stocky wrestler who loves to wildly swing = tailor made for McGregor.

Gaethje - I know a lot would presume Justin would finish Conor now, but I don't think so. Yeah he has more gas and grit, and kicks hard, but he's been finished by Poirer and Alvarez... it's a 50/50 fight for the first 2 rounds IMO.

Tony - Yep. Not much needed to be said. I think McGregor sparks him.

Dan Hooker - Very hittable, beatable, inconsistent... easy KO for Conor.

RDA...

Probably a couple more.

Depends which type of Conor comes back. If he’s laser focused, then most fights in the top 10 are still winnable for him. He wouldn’t be favored, but they are winnable. The fights with the lowest probability of victory, would be against Tsarukyan and Gamrot.

Most importantly, he needs to drop that boxing stance and stop trying to walk people down. Go back to being bouncy and threatening with counter attacks

he probably can't go back to his old style because of how big he's gotten and now with a broke leg he'll probably never be able to do it.

I think he beats almost all (if not all)...NBA mascots; especially if he sucker punches them. Conor still loses to half of the pub grandpas out there though.

Bring back Frankie Edgar or Urijah Faber. For people still fighting... Maybe Guida? Lauzon?

They should've let Frankie fight Conor at 155 instead of feeding him to contenders at BW.
No way at that time they would have let McGregor risk losing to Frankie. The UFC wouldn't even take the risk at UFC 189. They chose Mendes who has lost to Aldo twice and very recently over Frankie who had 3 or 4 wins at FW since his first Aldo fight. Made no sense giving Mendes an interim title shot unless the UFC was certain he would lose.

All "old man at the pub" and "NBA mascot" jokes aside (and assuming his rape case goes away), who is left in the UFC that Conor could get a win against if/when he comes back next year (if he ever comes back, but it's not happening this year)?

trilogy with Nate - said he'll come back to the UFC after boxing
Paddy - I think Conor could dust his chin inside 1 round
Diego Sanchez - he's a free agent now, maybe UFC can bring back for a one-off
Tony Ferguson - should be retired now, but if he's still fighting MAYBE Conor would beat him nowadays
Colby - most likely would ragdoll Conor, but McCracken could find his chin early
BJ Penn - bring him out of retirement for a superfight vs another shot fighter

Masvidal - could be coerced out of his recent retirement for one more big money fight (that should have happened 2-3 years ago). Jorge probably beats him, but he looked pretty shot in his last few fights, Conor could eke out a decision here.

Chris Weidman - if Conor wants to go up to MW, that's his golden ticket. Weidman most likely wrestlefucks Conor silly and chokes him stiff, but if Conor touches his chin...

Obviously some of these are only half-serious, but if Conor comes back against high ranked opponents he's going be publicly humiliated again.

Anyone in the top 15 in lw and ww would probably win over Conor. He’s been partying and getting coked up while everyone else in the top 15 have been training.

The myth of "the left" hasn't done anything in 7 years. Colby easily takes the left and wins. Conor is a volume precision puncher, not a one-punch KO artist.

Lol at Colby and Teh Chris, if you’re gonna call those fights winnable on the basis that Conor might find their chin at some point then I guess every fight is winnable for him

I'd love to say Conor would defeat Paddy and some others with his trash talk alone, but that Conor is sadly dead and gone. What's left is a pathetic reality. His best line leading up to the Khabib fight wasn't the nonsensical "Murmurmurmurmur!", it was primo coke.

What's the point of speculating his next fight or if he'll pass USADA, etc.? He's stale as fuck since getting DP'd by DP. Hell, I still feel embarrassed for Cowboy losing like that. But hey, if you like his Proper Piss or think he's still clever or can beat anyone his own size, I hope all your fantasy match ups come true.

No, I already said a win over Colby is highly unlikely, but Colby has pillow fists so there's no chance he sends Conor to the shadow realm, he'd just put Conor on the mat and probably keep him there for 25 minutes, so maybe a less humiliating (and merciful) beating than DP or Khabib. He'd just be getting wrestlefucked by a bigger guy that everyone expects him to lose to anyway without really getting hurt much.

That’s fine but the thread title is “winnable fights”, so if the bar for “winnable” is just anyone that Conor is physically capable of knocking out of the stars align in his favor then the list would be much longer than this and probably useless because it would include so many people.
