What a horrible mistake by Eddie with that elbow strike to lose position

Normally I'd say that since it landed on the shoulder and didn't have a real impact on the fight that he kinda go jobbed. But, since the first fight ended with a blatantly illegal knee from him and he measured up that elbow and threw it and it was a blatantly illegal strike... I say fuck it. Karma.

I don't believe it's written like that. I think it was obviously meant to be head strikes. If not, it's even stupider than I thought.

No its to any body part, the last fight card someone did one to legs from the top half guard and got warned. Think it was either Anderson or Tybura.

The sad thing is that you can see Alvarez's coach, Mark Henry, in the back specifically telling Eddie to throw that elbow. Eddie looked at mark, listened, and then threw the elbow that costed him the fight.

Eddie's coaches failed him big time .

"possibly" cost him the fight.

I doubt it though. Dustin would get up.

Right up there with ‘throw the 73’ again and again against Conor.

Mark Henry has a great mma/boxing rep, but man looks silly/bad this time.

it doesn't matter, he wasn't winning. he's badly overrrated. also only got that position because dustin went for that guillotine, no reason for that. eddie is a cheater and got what he deserved. better go back to bellator where the competition is easier

UFC's competition level is no better than Bellator's. Don't fool yourself, kid.

I never wished Avarez to win because of the humiliating way he was beaten by Conor.
I doesn't deserve to get a TS.

he had him mounted against the cage - how does that not make a difference
"Ultimately wouldn't have made a difference" -- meaning Poirier was gonna get a finish like that at some point regardless of whether he was allowed to keep the mount.

It seems people are assuming the rest of the fight would have been spent on the ground, and only making a big deal of the stand up because eddie was tko'ed shorty after. In reality it shouldn't have made a difference, as they were going to stand up again eventually and the same thing would have happened.
