Social What’s your preferred shift to work?

Let me see if I'm working at all this week

I've worked every shift, pretty much. Second shift is the worst. I worked 2PM-10PM for years and basically feel like those were wasted years of my life. Regret it immensely.

I work 4am-12 now. I like that much better.

I am dreading going back to a 9:00pm to 6:00am shift but that may be the only way I can get a promotion to manegerial before AI take my job.

Its the least I can do and I consider it low effort on my part. If I dont apply for the position I feel I am being lazy because others have given more effort to improve their economic output and job stability, like I cant complain about not earning enough if I dont even put a minimum effort to upskill.

I used to work 3 days a week 12 hr shifts the pay was basically the same as a 40 hr job because of the overtime every day. I could also do anything I wanted on the 4 days off I had every week. The 4 day 10 hour shift was also good 3 days off.

Would prefer 4 - 10 hr days - Tues thru Fri. 6am - 4pm. That would be the most ideal.

Not sure why I read the title this way, but I thought it was "What's your preferred time to shit at work?"

Love the idea of 4am to noon, just cant wake up that early. Dont mind the night shift either, 6pm to 2am works two, nobody even pays attention if you get off early.

A regular ass 9 to 5. Which these days is really 8 to 5 because there are no paid lunch hours. But whatever.

I would prefer 4-10s from 12PM to 8/9PM. No waking up early, and things are still going down when you get off of work.

I work whenever now(need to be on for 4 hours a day during banker hours though), but kind of prefer a more structured schedule.

I love my afternoon / evenings. Would much rather work early mornings

9 to 9. It's like time travel. Get up go to work come home wind down and then its tomorrow.

I work in security which is a 24/7 deal. So i've worked every kind of shift that exists.

My preferences is def a 9 to 5 or a 10 to 6 but those are rarer in this field. Most of the ones available are either 7am to 3pm/8am to 4pm 3pm to 11pm/4pm to midnight and 11 pm to 7 am/midnight to 8.

All of those kinda sux to me, but at least if you work the morning your freed up to have to live a normal life for the rest of the day.

Getting out at 11 or midnight is good if you like going to bars I guess lol cos what else is there?

Overnight is ASS but is easy work, usually.

Working is for chumps.

Open a daycare, you rubes! Start an NGO! Get a slip-and-fall suit going!

1st shift, 4x10s I suppose.

About 10 years ago I was working 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift all in one week but on different days. No thanks.........

The 3pm to 11pm shift is the best if you’re training to become an alcoholic

I’ve been clocking in at all hours since high school, juggling multiple jobs. For me, the sweet spot is 6 AM to 2 PM. I’m currently rocking these hours at my job, and I absolutely love it! The third shift, from 11 PM to 7 AM, often gets a bad rap, but honestly, it’s fantastic, especially if you prefer avoiding “retarded” coworkers. The second shift, though? It’s like your energy just vanishes into thin air because your whole day is gone.

I would love to work two 20-hour shifts per week and have five days off!

Here’s a tip: save your bathroom breaks for work. After all, why waste your own time when you can take a shit and do it on the company’s dime? 🤔
Third shift is my favorite. But, it takes away from family time. So now remote is the only shift I like.

I used to do 2nd and 3rd shift- 12 hours days at one of my IT jobs. One of the best jobs I've ever had lol. Barely any work and PTO was very generous. Basically working 3 days a week 3/4th of the whole year. Had they paid 20-30k more, I wouldve stayed for the rest of my life
