Hi guys,

I'll be going to the San Francisco during mid July. I have never been anywhere near the west coast. I'll be there for a week, but will only have evenings, and two weekend days free.

-during the week, I'll be staying at UC Berkeley. evenings free.
-Weekends I'm getting a hotel in that general area of CA to do and see whatever.

what are some things that i shouldnt miss from that area, or the west coast in general?

Go to an SF Giants game even if you dont like baseball
Its a beautiful stadium and a great place to party or just relax and people watch
If you go on a sunny Sunday afternoon youre guaranteed to see the largest collection of pretty white women anywhere on the West Coast

lol i had considered doing that. i have to be sure there is a home game first.

anyone know how long it takes to get to a beach from UC berkeley?

Napa is great if youre into wine
Santa Cruz/Monterey/Carmel is a great tourist area if you wanna hang out at the beach or see some sea life

Tilden Park is a cool little spot in Berkeley if youre into nature

what type of a park is it exactly?

i am into nature, and would like to see some of the natural surroundings. that seems to be a very urban area, though.

Cool spot to go hiking, have picnics, just hang out and watch squirrels and shit
Its a very peaceful and relaxing area
Santa Cruz has cool camping areas that has some nature stuff too or you could drive up north to the Redwoods but thats probably an overnight weekend trip

alright cool. yea i was wanting to see the redwoods but, just looking at google maps it seems that they are a good distance away.

I took an awesome run across the Golden Gate Bridge when I was there one time, it was badass.

If you are at all into running you would be crazy not to do that on a big trip there.

Napa is awesome as well. Getting hammered off awesome wine is where it's at.

In general though, California can tounge kiss my shithole, those liberal yuppies are shit.

lol. i might give that run a shot. does sound cool.

if your into nature/hiking, this is my favorite trail to hit up in Marin county. It's a beautiful trail that ends at Stinson beach (you can see the GG bridge from there)

I double up on going to Giants game. You can make an entire day out of it, as it is on the Embarcadero (Pier 39, Exploratorium, Ferry Building Marketplace)

i like it. thanks.

i wont have any wheels. would it make sense to get to this trail with UBER?

Dos:
Jupiter:
If you're staying in Berkeley, go to Jupiter for beer and pizza. They have a dope outside area and a great selection of beers you'll never see again in whatever midwestern shithole you're living in. Other spots to check out in Berkeley include Quickly's for Taiwanese fried chicken, a hot dog at Top Dog (watch out for the spicy mustard), or a nicer option of delicious Louisiana fare at Angeline's.
The Mission: Go to Farrolito for one amazing fucking Mission-style burrito. Go to Mission Chinese for Kung Pao pastrami. Go to Old Bus Tavern for their beer selection and off-menu chili. Go to Blondie's if you're into two massive martinis for $10 and a meat market scene. The bar hopping there is extremely easy.
The Marina: Yes, it is douche bro central, but the biddies are fly and it's right on the water. Try Tacolicious for a frozen margarita.
Golden Gate Park: You won't get through this in a day, but it's about the only big city park where you're going to see buffalo. If you're into outdoorsy activities, try this or Lands End Trail.
Ferry to Sausalito: Get to see the water and peep Alcatraz without the all-day affair of actually going. Once you get off the ferry, it's bars on the water galore. I recommend Barrel House.

Dont's:
Giant Stadium:
Don't go to a Giants game unless you're a big Giants fan. Yes, it is a nice stadium, but the garlic fries are like $14 and that entire area is shitty and yuppy. If you walk west from there along the Embarcadero it gets better (try the Ferry Building or the bar at Coqueta for a cocktail and view of water and the Bay Bridge.)
Alamo Square: The infamous "Painted Ladies" from the Full House San Francisco shot is currently unavailable. I live a block from there and the entire park is currently being renovated (through July).

It'd help if you talked about what you're looking for and how old you are. Great food, great bars, honeys, etc?
