One of the best performances I've seen in the past few years. It was pretty much almost a complete shut out and domination against a a elite striker and beating him in his own game.

Adesanya apparently before this fight was considered the best striker in the game today. And Strickland completely nullified his attacks. It was a masterful performance by Strickland.

If you weren't impressed I don't know.

Yes, his strategy and fighting style was impressive and worked very well against Izzy.

but it’s not like he put on an MMA clinic during the fight. He used good boxing and good defense. That’s it.

his style worked against Izzy, but it will not work against many other fighters in the division IMO.

I was very impressed. I posted before the fight that it would probably go to decision, that it might be a close decision, and that Sean was very underrated. I did not expect him to win in such a dominating fashion.

If you weren't very impressed by his performance, you're a hater or a troll. Or a fanboi of Izzy, which I can understand.

It was a very impressive performance, and that's as close to fact as you can get when it's not math.

Strickland relies mainly on his defense and awkward style/rythmn. His offense is above average, he's not an elite striker. He has a very unique style which confuses his opponents.

The fact that his defense was flawless against izzy was very impressive on one hand. On the other hand, the fact that izzy and his corner didn't find the solution mid-fight was very disappointing.

Because don't get fooled by the guy, strickland is a puzzle that can be solved and I do think that he would often lose rematches.

Extremely impressed. We saw Izzy put out numerous guys before... including Poatan who TKOed Sean himself not long ago. I thought somewhere over 5 rounds Izzy would just need 1 punch and that would be it. But no Sean's defense was simply incredible and he just chased Izzy down and gave him so space. People say Izzy looked off Saturday and he did... right after Sean's clean-ass punch in rd 1. He wasn't the same the rest of the fight and fought timid. Sean exceeded our exceptions and completely threw Israel off his own game in a masterclass performance.

Yeah. His stand up defense is something to behold. I was very impressed.

Still don’t like him, at all. But I respect the skill set.

Little bit late to the show, aren't we? Everyone's been on a week-long fiesta about all things Strickland!

Non-elite striker completely dominates a striker deemed elite by all.
But the former is, for some reason, merely above-average.

Yeah, as impressed.

I've always described Strickland as being very 'meat and potatoes' as far as skill and fighting style goes. Who woulda thought that is what would beat Izzy?

His defense is elite, his offense isn't.

Issue I have with strickland is that relying on a defensive style is kind of a one trick pony. You depends on your opponent finding or not the solution.

I'ld however say that he seems to have greatly improved his system since his loss against perreira. The low kick checks were on point.
