Simple yes or no will suffice.

To be honest, he didn't look as great as he did against Izzy in their two MMA fights. Maybe he was slowed down by the kicks to the legs by Jan and also most of 1st round of trying to defend getting choked.

But overall I didn't think he looked all that great. Jiri can spark him for sure.

I think he just had to be more careful because of the take down threat. He was able to keep himself safe and make it to the next round when he was in some bad spots. It wasn’t the greatest matchup and he got a win. I wasn’t blown away but I was impressed overall given the competition.

No, he looked slow and sluggish and his striking didn't seem crisp, especially his hands. I wasn't even convinced he won either, but he didn't really get beat up either so its like a draw type of fight. Alex had much better kicks, some good leg kicks, but I thought Jan actually landed more with the hands, especially the left. Jan got 3 takedowns and the back but his ground 'n' pound was non existent

I thought they both looked slow and lacklustre to be honest. You could tell Jan had not been in Utah very long, he was exhausted by round 2. Alex looked slow throughout

I was. Most guys at 205 would've been gassed after getting dominated round 1 like that. Especially for a kickboxer that made MW a few months ago training for a striker. I think he's going to condition better and fill out for the weightclass even more in the future and if anything he rushed to move up. He's an enormous MW, but still probably can fill out better for the class.

Definitely on the fence. I was impressed with his ability to survive on the ground. I thought once Blachowicz got him down he'd run through him like a hot knife through butter.

On the other hand he never really went for it on the feet, whether it was down to the takedown threat or the altitude. Still, Jan was gassed as hell and Poatan never got out of first gear against a guy who has huffing badly. I thought Jan won the 1st and 3rd rounds.

Still, I was expecting a sub loss if he got taken down so from that point of view I am impressed.

Yes. Lol, he went up a weight class and fights very frequently. Still got it done somehow even if I don't agree with the decision all that much. He was timid and looked weird striking because of the takedown-threat, we've seen this so often.

Can't imagine a better LHW fight, even in the last years, than Jiri vs Pereira right now.

Absolutely.

Cardio at alititude, chin held up, defensive wrestling looked solid, ability to get back to his feet, defended submissions.

He def. showed he is a player at 205. I hope they book him against Jiri next.

He showed he's improving on the ground and has decent cardio considering the altitude and style of fight that played out early. My issue is he didn't look to have the same pop to his punches. The reason for that I don't know. I guess the next fight will tell us more.
Everyone has an off day. I know people assume alex is some kind of emotionless terminator but that ko loss probably was hard to overcome. It looked like he just wanted to get the win and restore his mojo.

Of course i was impressed. Context, my friends, context. He went up a weight class against the #3 guy in the division, the former champ who gives problems to almost anyone he fights. His cardio was great and if we remember Adesanya's performance against Jan, we can only appreciate what Poatan did there

Jan seemed to give Alex the win by beating himself. Still an extremely close fight despite Jan being gassed for the final 2 rounds. Alex's cardio was impressive for the high altitude though.

He's lucky there are no legit wrestlers at LHW

There's also the fact that Jan may have a great chin

Alex had good defense in round 1, but he also looked like giant compared to Jan. Round 2 was by far Alex's best and may have gotten a finish if the round was longer. Round 3 Alex looked like garbage. I like how people say Jan was gassed but totally dismiss the fact alex threw basically nothing. Jan at least had some flurries and got a take down. Jan's last take down was way too easy. I was not impressed by Alex. For someone who is supposed to be a striking God and looks like a giant, Jan more than hung w/ him in round 3. Jan is no slouch, but I think Alex is highly over-rated.

Jan can most certainly take a better shot than izzy and strickland.
People like to bring up the Santos stoppage but Jan fought like a retard in that fight. Ran right into a full power shot.
He's solid
