Tom would have finished Stipe in the 1st round by KO. Jon could only finish him with a body shot. No chance of KOing from a strike to the dome.

Tom still hasn't beat anyone as good as Ciryl Gane for fucks sake. The facts are Jones still has a better win over him at HW despite being in the division for 2 fights.

Maybe Tom is the next Fedor could take out Ngannou and Jones with 1 finger blind but he hasn't been tested there.

The big 4 right now are Jones/Ngannou/Gane/Aspinall and Tom hasn't fought any of the other 3. There is no good reference point for Tom because Jones, Ngannou and Gane can smoke everyone Tom has beat as well.

People saying Stipe was to old and slow have no idea what they're talking about just no it alls that have to give a opinion for a reason..

Stipe looked faster than Jon in round 1 and 2 after Jon wrestled and attacked the body he slowed down and was probably scared of the take down since he couldn't get up..

Stipe would still best Aspinal and the rest of that hw division if Jon wasn't their. The guy finished DC if that says anything to a pea brain.. Jon looked slow if anything .. and is 38 Ben fighting longer than Stipe but let's all ignore the fact Stipe was the number 1 contender I mean come on

I feel like there should be more than two options.

Yeah same. Theres a middle ground.

The reason people didnt want to see this fight was valid, considering what we got, but Jones showed good skills. Unfortunatley Stipe really was comin at 30% of what he used to be.

Blades is a better win that Gane. Sergie is a better win that Gane. Volkov is a better win than Gane. All these wins came with the quickness while Gane would have to pillow fist them to a decision. Plus we saw how Jon was scared to stand with Gane. Hell Jon could only take Stipe down that one time. That won't work so easily on Tom.

His ability to read, react and implement is just unreal!
He looked slow and out of shape but just reacts so fast to anything that HW's will have a hard time beating him, since the demon has a solid chin to go with it.
A sad day!

Stipe is old and slow. Not a huge win.

But a win nonetheless. And Jon looked great.

Since heavyweights are naturally slower than light heavyweights, Jon might pick up another 3 wins in a row if he wants them.

He plays the game like it's chess. Jones is on a different level. Stipe looked "slow" because Jones worked his body and his head with GnP in round 1.

Jones looked good against a guy that's 42 years old.

Jones is 6 years older than Aspinall. Let's see Jon Jones accept a fight when he's 42 against a 36 year old Aspinall. Then you can talk.
Age isn't everything. Just look at Aldo who was out of his prime by age 32.

The younger you start, the earlier you slow down.

An opposite example would be DC and Yoel Romero. They were able to compete at high level at an advanced age because they started MMA late.

Jones has been competing in MMA since he was 20 years old. He's been fighting in the UFC since 2008, which is insane.

There's a significant difference between 37 and 42. But the point is age doesn't tell the whole story.

Watch pavlovich vs Aspinall
Then watch Jon vs Miocic

Do you see the difference in speed? I know its hard because you are so biased
But try

There are lvls to this, Jon isnt the best without his turinabol
