Yes Jones looked good but Stipe made the right decision to retire. Stipe was stuck in the mud

I was impressed. Jones was able to show way less restraint than Jake Paul while beating a geriatric opponent’s ribs in. He’s a killer for sure.

Not really.

Stipe looked really, really, slow. Like mike tyson slow. And his game plan was bizarre. Did he think Jones would box him in open space? Smh.

Nah. The difference between 42 and 37 is enormous. Jones is only 6 years older than Aspinall.

Jon Jones couldn't beat Aspinall NOW. You think Jon Jones could beat Aspinall in 5 years? Not a chance in hell. You're delusional if you think this win against Stipe means anything.
What makes you so confident Jones couldn't beat him.

We've never seen him against a kicker. He's a boxing dominant style, historically those guys have a very hard time hitting Jone, he controls the kicking range better than almost any fighter ever.

If you do get past it, he slips, rolls and uses his long arms to control the frames exceptionally well so that punches might him, but don't land cleanly.

And then there's the wrestling. We haven't ever seen Tom tested against a truly legit wrestler.

We haven't seen his gas tank, energy management or ability to go into deep waters.

Way too many questions to be that confident.

The only caveat here is Jons age, stylistically a boxing dominant style will struggle actually landing on Jones cleanly.

Even Reyes said he needed to be able to nullify Jon's dominance of the kicking range, or he had no chance at success.

Unless fighters can do that, it's very hard to hit him.

Jones got hit a lot considering how slow and predictable Miocic was. That wouldn't go too well for him against a much faster Aspinall, who's also bigger, hungrier, in his physical prime and hits harder.

I'm not a Jon Jones fan but that was an amazing performance. Nobody at HW has his all around skill set.

He looked very good, but Stipe looked like total shit so it's hard to say

He did the right things in that fight but he could not really handle when Stipe bum rushed him. Stipe did too little of that and when Jones turned and ran he just let him do that instead of of attacking a blind fighter.

Stipe just was unfortunately a fraction of what he used to be. He was slow, and gun shy.

Jones power in his punches standing didn't seem to do that much but it's a completey different story when he gets a guy to the ground.

It's hard to say impressed when he was mostly fighting a punching bag.

I am sure not one heavyweight is scared for Jon Jones now. That says enough. This is also normal. He fights for a long time at the highest level now and he is not the beast of a fighter he was when he was in his prime anymore. Stipe vs Jones was just a sad fight between a very old retired fighter and a fighter that is getting older but is not that old yet.

All I hear is Jon Jones is a coward.

Listen, it's simple. Either Jon Jones wants to retire or he doesn't. Jon Jones is absolutely within his right to retire. If he decides to retire in the next few months and vacates the HW title, I won't talk shit about that decision. It would be a smart decision. I respect Jon's right to walk away from the sport here and now.

But if Jon Jones holds the HW title hostage and ducks Aspinall for 12 months, then yes we have a problem. Jon Jones does owe Aspinall and UFC fans the right to have everyone see him unify the HW titles.
Calling the GOAT a coward. Go beat up your sister goof.

I'm not saying Jon can't beat Aspinall. He clearly has a chance to beat him.

The problem is that everyone knows Aspinall is a tougher fight than Stipe, and yet Jon was ducking Aspinall in favor of fighting Stipe. And it will look even worse if Jon ducks Aspinall for the next 12 months to fight anyone else.

Jon has a decision to make: Defend against Aspinall, or retire and vacate. The longer he takes to make that decision, the worse it looks on him.

He hurt Stipe with a punch to the jaw. His jab was a laser tonight too.

Jones looked good against a guy that's 42 years old.

Jones is 6 years older than Aspinall. Let's see Jon Jones accept a fight when he's 42 against a 36 year old Aspinall. Then you can talk.
I understand you wanted to get all of these things off about age difference but can you objectively discuss JONES PERFORMANCE. Thank you home skillet

And when exactly has Stipe looked “lighting fast”? Versus Diabetic DC at HW?
