Werdum won't be disciplined by AC for Edmond kick

The AC is terrified to do anything because their referee committed a giant blunder.

Poor Edmond, he should be able to talk shit to fighters without fear of consequences.

I'm not an advocate of unprovoked violence upon others, but, this comment gave me pause.

I think in particular this case - especially after the OAC stating neither party would be disciplined after talking with both camps - violence WAS the correct answer.

And yes, hopefully Edmund doesn't run his filthy mouth against a fighter ever again. And after this melee, I'm almost positive he will not, or will at least think twice about such actions.

imo werdum should get awarded for that

everybody is so grateful at him

Werdum scored so many points in my book for that kick <cheer>

Edmond had that kick coming a long time ago.

Werdum is the man.

Tiny angry punchy man comes up and postures like he's going to start something and, due to translation issues, seems to be using fighting words. Werdum cannot leave the situation. Standing there and letting tiny angry punch man punch is a bad move. Therefore Werdum moves tiny angry punch man out of punch distance, as well as showing that he is not an easy mark for any kind of sucker hit shenanigans. Werdum is a cool dude who reacted very well in a tough situation.

If he'd really had wanted to hit Edmond, well, we now have 30 combined minutes of footage of him going full Tekken on a much bigger and more dangerous Browne. If he really wanted to he could've corpsified Eddy no problem. But he didn't, so he didn't.

Good. Is there a more unlikeable person in MMA than Edmond right now? A slimy, shitty personality to go with a face you just wanna punch is a bad combo.

I think Werdum crossed the line. He was making fun of the crowd and to me it looked like Edmond didn't like that and said Werdum to stop. Then Werdum started to act violent.
Between rounds Edmond repeatedly referred to Werdum as "mother fucker". It had nothing to do with whatever you're talking about.

Werdum went over to see what the guy was yelling at him for then Edmond got into a stance which indicated he was going to throw a punch. Werdum then pushed him back with his foot.

Also, if a crowd is booing you, it's out of line pretending to wipe tears away? LOL

As much as I dislike Edmond, Werdum should 100% be disciplined. They're just going to let fighters hit people after the fight is over? What kind of unprofessional sh*t is this? Oh yeah... It's the UFC.

LOL at people thinking Edmond was defending the crowd, have you all erased that TUF season out of your memory or something? Dude is mad and unprofessional all the time, even when his fighters win. What Werdum did is nothing more than pushing away someone that's coming right at you all cursing and seething.

My thought was "we just had 15 minutes of watching paint dry, and NOW you want to kick and fight someone?"

As to what happened, I think it was like this -

1) We know Brazillian crowds will crap on any non-Brazillian fighter.
2) The crowd was booing because both fighters spent most of that fight resting and recovering from their few seconds of activity.
3) Werdum somehow thought the crowd was booing because the American lost, not because the fight was crap.
4) Werdum decided to taunt the crowd for it.
5) The guy on Browne's team thought Werdum was taunting his fighter.

I'm pleasantly surprised, I guess. If you were going to make an exception, Edmond would be the one to make it for.

Yep. He acted the same way when Browne beat Schaub. The only difference is that Schaub is a mild mannered American. Werdum is a hot blooded Latin. So the reaction is totally different. Maybe Edmond will learn his lesson now.

Werdum should have yelled. Dana, 60 Gs babyyyy!!! To rightfully claim that bonus.

As much as I dislike Brown and Edmond, ther should be a fine...

Such bullshit. No one cares because Werdum is loved and Edmund is hated. If this was the other way around and Brown kicked Rafael, there would be a fucking riot on these boards.

According to you, a guy high on adrenaline after a fight in which he was robbed of stoppage due to both Travis and the referee breaking the rules should take out his pipe, make a cup of tea and talk poetry while someone is calling him a motherfucker to his face and that person is in punching distance. Again, he pushed Edmund off and he didn't follow up, just took a defensive stance. So what's the problem here?

Except for the fact Rafael would never acted that way to get a reaction from Brown, I'm surprised no one has started a donation fund to reward Werdum, it would be hilarious to see how quick it grows.
