Went to Germany for work....my impressions

American going to another Country, WHY ARE THEY ONLY SPEAKING BROKEN ENGLISH I DONT GET IT. Also these places are known to be shit try Munich or Stuttgart. Its getting worse by the minute so enjoy Munich while it lasts.

I grew up in Germany and lived there for 18 years (As a British army kid), and I always thought the people were really nice and polite in general. My German always sucked but I never really got any shit for it, and most of the time the people spoke decent English anyway. That being said, I haven't been there in decades now. My Dad has gone back multiple times and says it's completely changed from how it was back in the day

That’s odd that no Italians around you knew enough Spanish to help them..

About 80% of Italian vocabulary is relatively the same as Spanish..
Exactly. In fact, I got by just by speaking Spanish the whole time. Idk, maybe everyone there at the train was a tourist like me.

10 days and he judges a country of 80million people with vastly different cultural regions being upset about germans speaking german <lmao> Let me guess you are american.

You sound like a foreigner I would avoid getting in contact with. I speak fluent english but I expect from a visitor to my country at least make an effort using the local language in my case german. Thats how I do it visiting other countries and I always get positive experiences by respecting the culture and language.
If you are too lazy to do that honestly f** off.
You don't have to guess he says in his OP about knowing Germans in Canada....

And your English sucks

Sorry you went to 2 of the most boring and soulless places in Germany. I see you enjoyed German customer service too, I was always amused by that aspect.

sadly no, but I manage some tasteless pictures at Sachsenhausen
I was young and foolish.

Still foolish... not so young.

Please tell me you met Hoff at the airport or at least saw him on the wall.......

Germany is fine. sure, their customer service is not the American "kiss your ass" style, but they are usually not rude (I'd say never, but nobody is safe from an occasional asshole).

I wish my country could treat foreigners like this, maybe we wouldn't have soo many illegal aliens move here. I don't feel bad for you TS, next time learn the fucking language before you go to their country.

.....and how much traveling do you do exactly?

That is the dumbest thing I have read in a while.

Your link between the treatment of foreigners and the illegal immigration crisis also makes no sense.

I was an invited speaker at a conference held in Germany...and you want me to learn the language before going?
