I was under the impression that Europeans kind of had the idea that they were more multicultural and less racist than us. Either way, you’re right. People are still people no matter where they are. And they’ll always find a way to discriminate against other people. Whether that’s skin color, religion, sexuality, or whatever, humans will use it.I don't think they claim to be less racist. They are progressive in the sense that they provide sane social services and don't let big business destroy peoples lives/rule over them. But that's where it ends.
Most of the world is racist, and they don't see anything wrong with it, unfortunately.

While many criticisms about us are definitely warranted, this one is ridiculous. Of course we’re insular. They can travel for a couple hours and they’re in a different country. They do look down on Americans for being so insular.

I can drive for 8 straight hours and I’ll still be in th same state.
And also when I was in Italy, a bunch of people were waiting for the train. A Spanish couple was trying to figure out the train schedule and asking everyone “Habla Espanõl?”
I was the only morherfucker there who spoke enough Spanish to help them. All the other people were like, “What?” (Or however you say “what” in Italian). So I don’t know how much I believe their bullshit about knowing multiple languages. They know multiple languages the same way my brother in law “is fluent in Italian,” which means they know one or two phrases.
That’s odd that no Italians around you knew enough Spanish to help them..While many criticisms about us are definitely warranted, this one is ridiculous. Of course we’re insular. They can travel for a couple hours and they’re in a different country.

About 80% of Italian vocabulary is relatively the same as Spanish..
