We're three months removed from the last welterweight title fight, and no one has a clue who the next top contender is. This is mainly because there are a ridiculous amount of guys that all have a serious claim to a shot. Condit, Woodley, Maia, Brown, Wonderboy, Rory, and Magny could all potentially fight for the title next. You also have guys like Nick Diaz and GSP being considered. There are also a bunch of veterans and up and comers that could all be only a win or two away from title contention such as Tumenov, Nelson, Cowboy, Cote, the Dong, Saffeidine, Story, Masvidal, Gastelum, Hendricks, and Larkin. Also given how violent Robbie Lawler is it's pretty much a guarantee that any title fight is going to be fireworks. If we're being frank I can't remember any division being this stacked in a long time.

LW and WW both have double to triple the amount of fighters compared to every other division on the roster. On pure numbers alone, both divisions are going to be deeper and more competitive.

Magny and Brown need a couple more wins, especially against top 5 competition, let`s see ao Brown does against Maia who is right there for a titleshot.
I would give Condit the rematch, but if they wait a few months more and Wonderboy beats Rory no doubt that he should get the shot, Woodley more fighting less bitching on twitter please.

Add in Nate and Conor and we have the official GOAT division.

And yet a bunch of idiots think that Conor should jump the line at WW to fight Robbie.

Woodley has sat out too long, guy does not deserve a title shot. fight and prove you deserve the shot. Also Im a fan of his but I dont think Brown is anywhere close to a title shot at present

If Brown beats Maia he's right there in the mix. His only two losses in his last ten fights have been decision losses to Lawler, the current champ, and Hendricks, the former champ.

yeah and they were back to back losses, from which he has only one win since. As I said Im a big fan of his but he isnt close to a title shot yet imo. If Maia wins Id give him the shot, but if Matt wins Id say he needs one more win to deserve a shot

Yeah it's tight as fuck. Can't believe there isn't a title fight booked lol

This.

I wonder if condit and cowboy would fight after all the training together. It would be a fun bloody fight

Its getting better, but I wouldn't say its necessarily "stacked"

And to say its THE MOST stacked you've seen in a long time says alot.. The lightweight division is clearly wayyyyy more "stacked" I can't see how you could look at a weight class like WW and say its the most talent rich division when such divisions as LW exist where the entire top 15 are legit.. In no other weight class do we have an entire top 15 full of killer fighters

Magny has been impressive, really didn't see that coming at all

He seems to improve with every single fight as well. He'll likely look even better his next fight.

Also Thatch, Ellenberger, Silva, Alves, Lombard, Mein, Saunders, Gyu Lim, Marquard, Pyle is always fun to watch, even if they lose

I didn't really care for him to be honest until that last fight. His heart is unbelievable. Can't wait to see what he does next

I think bantamweight is the most stacked.

Cruz
Dillashaw
Faber
Sterling
Almeida/Garbrandt winner of that could make things interesting
McDonald trying to make a comeback
Assunaco when he's healthy
Lineker
And Dodsons moving back up

it would be the most pointless fight. Condit absolutely destroys Cerrone.

Stop exaggerating. Brown, Magny or Rory could not get the next shot
