The least likeable/exciting division

Now I gotta say I'm all about the fights and not so much about the personalities but WW stinks at the moment

At the top we have Usman, Colby, Belal, Leon, Khamzat. Easily 5 of least likeable and in some cases boring fighters on the roster (maybe not Khamzat as a lot of folks like him, I personally can't stand him but each to their own.)

Then there's Burns and Luque who are cool but not especially close to a TS (although Luque should be)

Outside of that there's Neal, Chiesa and Brady (who didn't exactly set the world on fire getting pieced up on the feet by Chiesa)

There's solid action fighters like the Leech, Ponz and Masvidal but overall I'd say WW stinks at the moment.

Am I wrong?

hmm...
I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down but am still excited to watch fights in the division.
especially with Chimaev coming back? Lots of good fights...

I agree. It's weird because I feel like there is actually a lot of interesting matchups in that division but there's only like two or three guys who seem to want to fight somewhat frequently.

There's khamzat but ufc is doing a poor job fast tracking him.

Colby is on ice for a while it seems. no title shots for him anymore.
Leon, Burns, Belal, WB have zero charisma
masvidal doesn't fight
Luque is good but ... his last wins were woodley and chiesa. neither of those have aged well.

gsp needs to come out of retirement

make gsp vs khabib at 170.....

i would pay triple the current ppv

I agree.

Colby is a try hard, and cringe also he got his face broken by Usman and then owned again yet claims he would win the other 7 or 8 fights if they had 10 total. Such a cope and sad

The rest are decision wrestlers and half lack charisma. Usman is the coolest of that bunch and is the champ at least
colby aint the prob with the division
he and khazmat are the most exciting guys there

I like WW. UFC just needs to let these guys that wanna, fight each other.

I suspect they're trying really hard to map out a path for Khamzat, but the problem is that there's no guarantees in the fight game.

Khamzat vs Neil.

Let's go.

Usman vs Chimaev might be the biggest fight you can make in 2022 - provided they both win one or two more fights.

Chimaev vs Magny, Belal, Luque, Burns, Colby, etc — I just want to see more of Khamzat ASAP.

I don’t like Covington or Masvidal but I’ll be excited for their grudge match and might even watch some episodes of TUF if they end up as coaches. Masvidal vs Edwards would/will also be great.

Sean Brady is an interesting prospect and I can’t wait to see Shavkat Rakhmanov start fighting ranked opponents.

Salikhov vs Pereira is going to be great and I’m also excited to see the winner move up the rankings against the like of Neal, Jingliang, Ponzinibbio, Thompson, etc.

You also have the Diaz Bros, Lawler, as well as possibly Holland, Poirier, etc joining the division.

UFC is doing a good job at normal tracking him.

At first I was like who the hell posted this fighter.
I bet 95% of Sherdog does not know who this is.
Then I saw your Avatar and went ... okay the guy that watches more MMA than almost anyone here.
Good choice.

That's because most mma fans are fuckin primadonnas nowadays.
Only want to watch the names instead of the fights.

I think you could say the same about several of the divisions right now. Very few real stars or big match-ups. LHW may be the worst; almost completely devoid of any star power with a 40+ journeyman as champion who just beat another journeyman. Izzy and Usman have both basically cleared their divisions. Far cry from when we had BJ (155), GSP (170), Anderson (150), and Jones (205).

One day you'll grow up and get a job, have a family, and not be a petulant man-child who fawns over other half naked men.

Imagine bragging about not being social or having responsibilities outside of watching bum fights lmao
