Good scrap. I'm impressed with Ewing, especially considering that he showed up on short notice.

Wellmaker seems to have bought into his own hype. He was looking to land a haymaker the whole time. Not much jabbing or combos. This could be either a learning experience for him or the beginning of the descent.

Credit to Wellmaker for taking a short notice replacement but fuck that was a bad performance from such a big favorite

Congrats to Ewing for stepping up and seizing the challenge

I mis clicked on tapology and picked against wellmaker by accident.

One trick pony. Didn't have much outside of the power check hooks.

Yeah he got exposed big time. If that right hand doesnt land hes kinda fucked. those converted stances are easy to neutralize because they rely so much on that strong hand in front and that back is basically useless. He should stick to orthodox stance

I had a feeling this was coming, maybe not against this short notice guy, but his next step up in competition. If he doesn’t get the knock out in the first round, he seems to fade a bit.

Congrats to Ewing for stepping up and seizing the challenge

Credit to Wellmaker for not beating a last minute replacement?

You’re acting like bros earned some seniority or something with the org when he’s done jack shite. You fight who they put in front of you until you earn a legacy period.

Enough coddling these pretenders.

He didn't have to take the fight lol - don't be a cunt

Welp, so much for future champ Wellmaker
He’s a good fighter but essentially he started MMA a little late, not being a specialists in a martial art is really difficult for an aspiring fighter who starts their career at a later age. You never know though, he might just put in the work but it’s unlikely.

A prelimer who’s beat nobody and done nothing with the organization “didn’t have to take the fight”? Lol Cmon now.

Maybe pink goof was right about the sport getting soft.

<31>

His opponent dropped out literally 2 days before

Touch grass bozo

I bet he’s disappointed though
He was supposed to have an easy night at the office with them last min Ewing
That boy looked good

A month and a half removed, it's important to remember Ewing was most definitely still close to peak fight shape (scored a walkoff KO a week prior after a full camp), Ewing's a really complete, really good fighter, and it's not like Wellmaker got run over. This was a competitive fight that Ewing took through well-rounded volume, but he had to work like crazy for it. In other threads I've seen people declare this a fraud check on Wellmaker when it's more of a large bump in the road for Mister Malcolm. I don't think he's anywhere near as talented as DC and Joe did at the beginning of this fight (flash KO's are great, but who was he scoring them on again?) and I definitely foresee one or more losses in 2026 for the young buck, but think they'll be entertaining losses mixed in with him unleashing some massive KO's on mid-level jobbers.

Kinda like a more complete version of Melvin Guillard, actually.
