Weird. Ryan Leaf in prison.

I thought prisoners only wore the stripey outfits in films.

Ryan Leaf is similar to Matt Bush who was taken #1 overall in the baseball draft in 2004, ahead of Justin Verlander. Bush was a SS who never made it out of the minors and is now in prison for a drunk driving incident.

Apparently, legendary NFL bustout Ryan Leaf is now in a Montana State prison, serving what appears to be the remainder of a 7 year sentence. Weird, to think about the year he was drafted and the big discussion we had about whether he was better than Peyton Manning.

After busting out of the NFL due to 'maturity issues' (in spite of having physical tools that were insane), he started spiraling into drugs. Apparently got himself clean and found peace in life as a mens golf coach at a junior college, before falling off the wagon and buglarizing someones house for drugs.

He was sent to a drug treatment facility, but busted out of there too and was recently remanded to the mens state prison in Montana to serve the rest of his time.

The crushing weight of human exceptioanlism claims another unprepared victim.

Hands down, the biggest bust in pro sports. I mean sure, there is Alexander Daigle, and Bryan "Big Country" Reeves, but at least thay aren't in jail.

Does the GM who drafted him still have a job?

The thing about Ryan Leaf was how good he was in college. The guy had talent, but didn't have the maturity for the big show. I wouldn't blame the GM because everyone thought the guy was going to be good, if not great.

The guy just melted down under the spotlight

Thanks for the heads up. I constantly am image searching for responses. I'll cross that one off my list for options. lol

I remember hearing stories of Ryan Leaf walking into bars in SD getting into a 'scuffle' and yelling things like "You don't even fucking know me. I could buy you, you, you, you and this whole motherfucking bar!!!!" when he was getting thrown out. lol

Not really sad to hear he got himself locked up being an idiot.
 
They said when they asked Peyton what he would do if he was the #1 pick, he said he'd learn the playbook asap, work hard, etc.

Ryan Leaf said he would be on the first flight to Vegas.

Also, there is a video clip of Ryan Leaf singing for some reason. That short clip infuriates me to no end.
