groin is a major heat area of the body...they pour water on it to cool it down....used to happen lots in MMA...Claudia was the first time I had seen it with wmma and pretty much after that corners stopped doing it for guys and girls....

there was never any mystery to it....lol

I always thought it might have something to do with the cup making things uncomfortable, especially during 36 minutes of fighting.

A lot of family watched the Morales/Raheem fight at our house (It was a double header with Pacquiao and our family is Filipino) and I remember the translator translated Morales’s corner saying “Let me pour water on your balls” late in the fight.

Almost everyone in the room was either laughing or confused, but my dad and my brother and I never thought much of it because we regularly watched boxing and we saw it in all the time...
