Weili needs to work on her boxing next.

For all we know she's just doing Muaythai drills for instagram/tiktok. Behind closed doors, an army of manlet dagis and chechens wrestling 8 hrs a day.

She's been at volks camp at Thailand with the hickman brothers, who are in my opinion amongst the best mma wrestling coaches in the game.

She just needs to throw some GNP. She would have had a finish in the first two rounds if she focused on that. Instead she kept going for submissions, giving the opponent a chance to recover.

Really? Not to be rude, but are you being serious?

She threw an insane amount of ground strikes, that's how she got the record for highest strike differential, because of all the ground strikes she threw.

Watch the fight with your own eyes instead of worrying about what the stats say <45>. Almost all were peppering shots. There was only one point that she dropped bombs on the ground, which was after a knockdown... And then, with the ref hovering and ready to step in at any second, she stopped doing that to go for a reverse crucifix.

Watched the fight closer than you did clown..

Weili was trying to finish the fight with strikes multiple times on the ground.

Weili has shown that she can dominate the fight in the realms of kicking and wrestling / grappling.

In her last few fights though, particularly in Rose 2 and Lemos, she's showed quite a bit of vulnerability in the boxing realm.

She doesn't have a varied / dynamic boxing offense (not good at entering and landing combinations) and her jab is under utilised (although I recognise she's not a rangey fighter).

Her defense isn't amazing either, she's been quite vulnerable to getting tagged with punches her whole career.

If she can fill this gap, she'll become the most complete fighter the division has ever seen.

Her team haven't seemed to pick up on this though, so I don't anticipate her working on it as much as she should.

Just my take.
She’s obviously excellent at wrestling maybe even masterful. You’re right that it wouldn’t hurt to see if she could bump up her skills in another area just to make her even more dangerously capable as a MMA fighter. That being said, her stature will limit her effectiveness in standup striking. However we’ve seen shorter fighters like Mike Tyson and Alex Volkanovski do quite well.

No she wasn't. It wouldn't have been 200-something to 20 if she was putting anything on even 10% of the shots. She has the athleticism of a man, so it was a mismatch to begin with.

Were you really so desperate for any sort of human interaction that you would quote me with such obvious nonsense? Ha, pathetic.

Weili trains harder than most. So I'm sure she's working on her boxing consistently.

You're not very smart.

Her explosiveness and ability to put her weight behind techniques, I could see her as being pretty devastating as a stocky inside boxer like the fighters you mentioned.

Remove the ground strikes and Zhang still outlanded Lemos on the feet. She also scored a knockdown in that fight.
So don't work on your weaknesses because stats? Watch fights not numbers bud. Anyone worried about Weili is because they want to see her dominant for awhile. OP wasn't shitting on her.

It just seems like something that should have been blatantly obvious to her before. If she hasn't improved it yet, I suspect it is because it is just something that she struggles with. Maybe her improvement in wrestling is her way to work around that weakness in her game.
That's a good point, not everyone is going to take to every spect of MMA. I just feel she has great reflexes and spatial awareness, so I thought she would take to it well.

At this point of the game. Weili isn't going to pick up straight boxing. She is going to continue using MT to fight heavy handed opponents. That is what she has been doing for her whole career. Even her wrestling/BJJ isn't something she picked up recently. It took years to get there. Adding another boxing trainer will just clash with her current style.

Then don't add a coach, just drill. She's already in Phuket, there are so many padmen available. Most Muay Thai, but definitely some Boxing. Work on fight specific drills that compliment her style. We're not trying to get her into the next Olympics. For the most part I agree with your sentiment, I said as much to @fortheo, that said, completely ignoring this aspect of her game isn't the answer either.

She's going to need to work on wrestling cause Suarez will put her on her back and sub her.

Dude you really think she doesn't work on punching drills? She teaches boxing drills to people at BangTao during her downtime. Like I said, at this point she isn't going to change her style much. She isn't going to find a boxing coach to work with exclusively. At best you will see another collab with Nonito Donaire.

She doesn't need punch drills though, she needs defense drills. I'm not trying to change her style or her stance, just her reaction to punches. Pool noodles, pads coming back at her etc. You'd be surprised how many padmen shoot the pad over/away from your head. The thais aren't as kind.

You are saying stuff that she is already doing. Her striking trainers are all Thai. Even the one that came with her from China.

She is towards the end of her career in terms of performances. She isn't going to get much better in that aspect of the game. She doesn't want to box some female boxing champion. Her next fight is either going to be a wrestler or another Sanda fighter. She might not even make it past one of them. The weight cut is also getting very difficult for her.

If she doesn't fix this that "Sanda fighter" might box her up if Weili can't take her down, she is at TAM. Again I already covered we aren't trying to get her to the Olympics and that there are boxing specific Thai trainers all over Thailand. Looks like we're just going to agree to disagree. War Weili, she's a queen and one of the few female fighters I respect. A true professional.
