Has anyone got or had experience of the Kensui Weighted vest?
I've seen a guy use it in my gym and had a brief chat with him about it. It looks pretty well put together and he reckons he's used it every training session for a while (UK; so P&P and import would have been quite high anyway).

No I haven't mate but a weighted vest is something I have considered purchasing often, especially as I do a fair bit of walking so figured it would be good for that. If you get one, I'd be interested in your thoughts on it.

These things allow you to attach a Olympic plates to them, with the biggest (most expensive one) going up to 330lbs.
They won't weigh that much by themselves, so I guess maybe £80 for P&P and customs.
I know I had a apex blanket come in which was about 800g and it cost me £60 in customs and handling fees. That was I think $210 value item.

Not had one that looks that comfortable or plate adaptive. Just the basic sports store version with removable sandpacks up to 40lbs. Used it for push ups, pull ups, power jumps but you have to hold your arms across chest to keep the weight from moving. Makes every movement more cardio based. Can't run in it, bounced and rubbed skin around arms/neck too much.

It graduated to the pool for swimming or weight for cleaning bottom.

Yeah I like that I could get away using it for a few different things.
Also I'm a little lazy so I could use it for bulgarian split squats,. manage to add some weight easily for ab wheel roll outs etc

+ planks and feet elevated ring rows (goat exercises for upper back).

I love the look of these vests you can add plates to.
I have a weighted vest but it's one with sand bags and I find it pretty unwieldy and annoying to use. I'm not saying that every vest in the style of mine is bad per se, I think as much as anything the design of mine's not great.
I'm not sure I'll go for the Kensui though due to import charges etc. (I'm in the UK too).

Yeah agreed. The import tax is a major sticking point.

I have one and its the bomb. I'm in a stretch that I have to do mini workouts and it really fits the bill for me. Yesterday I had 30 minutes, started with airdyne work for 15mins followed up with Kensui weight vest full range pushups(on blocks) and feet elevated rows for as may sets of 10 reps as I could get in 15 minutes. My entire upper body was pumped to the max.

Cheers meatplow; although the term pumped to the max makes me cringe.

Do you need shoulder pads for a weighted vest? I keep seeing it as an option for all shoulder pads. This design seems different since it centers your weight into one spot vs evenly distributes it.

The sand pack style has thick sewn edges and they dig into your skin. Not as bad with a Tshirt on under it.

I am trying to find somewhat of a budget one around 30-40 lb to walk with to try out before I commit. The crossfit one is nice but I can also see myself buying it for almost 200 and not using it much.

Picked it up from Academy years ago. BCG brand, was probably $50 back then.
